OlympiCs ParT II

juz finished watching the ndp rally by pm lee. missed out on the 1st half hour though.. a prof once said he's a v busy man but every year, there's one programme which he'll never miss out - ndp rally. apparently wad is being said will be wad the next 1 yr is going to be like, so, cannot missed out de.
*
well.. over the years.. apparently the issues covered are more or less the same... economy, birth rates wad's not...
*
but i think pm lee is a very charismatic man and a very engaging speaker. i hope i could speak like him :) perhaps i should take up some speech courses or wad..
*
okay, tdy will still be on olympic. juz some after-thoughts after the silver medal ytd. im still very much affected.. hhaa..
*
was thinking if singapore can buy foreign sportsmen, y dont they buy the top sportsmen? okay, 'buy' is not the correct word. they arent commodities, so it's not right to use 'buy'. 'invite' will be a better diction. so y dont we invite the top sportsmen? pple like michael phelps, guo jing jing, yao ming, zhang yi-ning etc.. if they play for us... then gold medal will not be a problem le rite?? so... y not?
*
okay okay.. these pple are priceless and singapore cannot afford them.. but seriously, it's worth thinking lor. invite lower quality de, also need money. y not spend more and invite the stronger players so tt medals can be guaranteed and singapore's name can be made known to the whole world? it's difinitely worth the investment. :)
*
then... was watching the award presentation for the women's table tennis ytd. all 9 players (3 frm china, 3 from singapore and 3 from korea) were facing to the left with the china's national athem being played and the flags slowly being raised. then i was thinking wad might the 3 singapore players be thinking. for lee jia wei, i think still okay, cuz she's been in singapore for quite a while le. but for feng tian wei.. i think it must be v akward. she was made a singaporean only this year (or last year?). which means tt b4 tt, she's a chinese. in juz 1 year's time, she changed her nationality and does not salute to the china flag or sing the china national athem anymore. i think it must be a very big internal struggle.
*
they are from china, yet they are competing for another country against their own origin country. then they cannot acknowlegde their own flag and athem... the whole lot of audiences were cheering for the china team and not them when they r also chinese! it's like... so duhh..
*
but sincerely, i think they are the smart ones. highly paid, highly recognised, highly treasured in singapore. y not ? they won a silver medal and we treated them like gods. for their rivals, the china team, they won the gold medal, but it's juz one of the many many tt china had won. see the difference?
*
if they had remained in china, they will be nobodies becuz there are so many better players than them. but once they came to singapore, they became national treasures. so wad abt the internal conflicts? the pt is, stay wherever the grass is greener!
*
and so... realise something? don be a stubborn stick in the mud.. be flexible! if u know u'll be treasured elsewhere, then juz go! no time for sentimental values or loyalty or wad crap.. no pt staying if there r pple better than u and u cannot shine. go somewhere where u r the best and u can shine. be a big fish in a small pond, and not a small fish in a big pond.
*
o.. wad am i insinuating huh?
