HK 2011 DaY III

third day in hk is considered the slackest day.

visited the market near our hotel in the morning. mum was so fascinated with the bigger sizes veggie there.

and then.. the super wrong decision - to board this big bus.

it was a super wrong decision becuz it's soo bloody expensive and not worth it! bascially u can sit on it all day and it will intro the various landmarks along the route. and so, we sat on it for almost like an hour... but i wasnt listening to the introduction at all, as i was busy figuring out how the bus work and where shld we alight etc etc.

and the ride costed abt sgd30 per pax! that's like sgd120 for the 4 of us!! 120... how many taxi rides we could have taken with that money! grrr.. wasted the time and money on this stupid bus. really grrrrr.

munching on a choco beard papa in mtr. and that's my ali baba bag bought at the temple street market. :)

and then we went caught a movie. watched the arron kwok show - c+ detective.

and dinner was steamboat which wasnt all that good. the soup bases were very plain. but the drinks were unlimited and that includes beer. worth it if u are drinking.

back to work again tmr. ultimate s.i.a.n.

can someone save me out of this sily cycle?????

4) nose block by the wadever mucas that cannot be blow out
5) wanting to say something, but decided not to, lest u cough again and back to point 1

HK Trip ReVieW

im back!

concussed for the whole of ytd. down with cough and sore throat. lucky on leave today. phew.

well, some after-thoughts for the trip.

seriously, i think this trip's a flop. it did not turn out quite the way i had wanted/expected it to be. and i think the folks didnt enjoy as well.

there were too many factors which were overlooked, or rather, i wasnt even aware until we were there. really gotta consider more if u are bringing folks along. all in all, i think hk is not an elderly-friendly place.

1) limited escalators in hk mtr. their mtr are super big and most of the time, u have to climb stairs as there are no escalators. it only became a salient point when i had the folks with me. poor folks had a hard time climbing the damn long stairs. now i wonder... being a cosmopolitan city which is comparable, if not better, than sg, how come their mtr still soooo travellers - unfriendly? for god sakes, have more escalators/lifts lahhh!!!!

2) tonnes and tonnes of people again.. u better know where u want to go.. else be prepared to kenna knocked upside down by people..

3) we always complained abt the flaws with travelling with tour agencies - wake up early, no flexible time, follow tour group blahh blahh blahh.. so, i tot this time round free & easy will be good for us. but.. i was wrong again.
with tour groups, at least we dont have to worry abt transport. it's really bad to have to travel around hk by ourselves using the public transports. refer to point 1 again.
so, if u are travelling with folks, do reconsider tour groups. f&e may not be all that good afterall.

4) the super wrong and stupid decision was - to travel from macau back to hk. we should have juz fly back from macau! wasted on the time/trouble/ferry fare/transport fare for going back to hk from macau and flying from hk. dumbo me!!!

5) think i've over-estimated the folks. maybe, travelling is really not for them anymore. walk a while and mum will be super tired.. had wanted to bring them overseas and let them see more things, but i think the trip tires them out even more. haiz, guess no more next time.. except maybe, cruises.

yup yup. so, it was a tiring trip that went out of expectation. or rather, my planning is still not good enough. shld have planned until super precise and know exactly where to go and how to go so as to minimise walking distance. ha.

well, kidda disappointed also, cuz after so much effort and anticipation, no one seems to really enjoy the trip. haiz.

a word of advice for all u out there. travel while u can. cuz when age catches up with you, travelling is really not as easy anymore.

back to work tmr. uh-ohhhh.
