求生之计

how to emerge unscathed in a small little team of pple, when everyone in the team has a secret agenda, and i happened to be the newest, youngest and most junior?!

and mind you, i seriously mean a SMALL LITTLE team. how much politics can go in there??!

it kind of disgusts me how we can sit and lunch together and after dispersing, one side starts to bitch about the other. ok, i admit i also do that sometimes, especially during the period when mr irritating was still around... but..... o well..

i foresee loads of arrows pointing at me.... all ready to shoot when the time is ripe...

and i cant help but start to wonder if some pple are nice to me just so to 拉拢 me into the clique, so that they can 'strengthen' their saying power and that they can arrow me easier, since it will be harder for me to reject them when they had been nice to me.

and now, i know why some pple de faces are forever 脸臭臭. most of the time, pple who are always 脸臭臭 will be left alone and no one will touch them.

 the 笨蛋 me believe in being nice and courteous and smiley to all, but i failed to realise that being so will potentially invite more arrows. 傻瓜.

人善被人欺，马善被人骑。有根有据。

now, my bridal package was signed at a bridal show, which means that even before we can confirm if the shop even exist physically, we had committed ourselves to $6k+ of payment.

so one fine day, we went for a site visit. and yes, the shop does exist physically. phew.

having heard a number of horror stories where the brides-to-be had difficulty looking for gowns that they deem are suitable, i decided to visit the shop for the 2nd time for a 'trial' to have a rough idea of what my shop can offer me.

and tada...a preview to share..

we intended to have the bridal shoot either end this year or early next year. but with the upcoming maldives trip, im quite positive of turning into a piece of charcoal. so, the shoot should most likely take place early next year to allow time for me to 'whiten up' abit....

i guess i really do not have much requirements of the gowns. probably that's y we signed the package without comparing too much. to me, all the gowns look more or less the same and they are all pretty. i can foresee having difficulty to selecting only a few from the vast many..

quite a fun experience.. shall c when to go for a 2nd trial again.. to have even more 'feel'.. kekekekee.

our block

since last year, so many pple were already telling me that the flat will be ready soon, and we were expecting to collect the keys mid this year. but now that mid-year is approaching, it doesnt seem possible to be able to collect the keys yet. my best bet will be end of year..

gosh... cant imagine having to leave the good old neighbourhood of telok blangah, an environment i've been in since birth....

will definitely miss the convenience of travelling here. orchard road, harbourfront, vivocity, CBD, chinatown, suntec, tiong bahru, great world city, raffles place..... u name it, and i can get to these places in a single bus trip!!

i guess i will no longer be a 'town' person once i moved to the new place. my new hangout places will then be jurong point, J-Cube, boon lay shopping mall and the upcoming Jem. not that there's anything wrong hanging out at these places... but..... o well...

i guess i really do have an affinity with jurong. almost 90% of my relatives (both paternal and maternal) live in jurong. my jc was in jurong. my uni was in jurong. hubb lives in jurong.

and now..... im shifting to jurong!!

kidda unbelievable..

really.

anyway, this man promised to fetch me to and fro....... but i know it's not likely to happen and he said that just to make me feel better in shifting to jurong.......grrrrr... kenna cheated..

o well. point of no return.

looking forward to a life of two-some :)

Ironies......

you know how.. sometimes in life... you really cannot plan too far ahead...

dont know wat to say.. but the recent spate of events made me realised that many things could have 意想不到的转折.....

11 Sept 2012, i made a promise to myself. in a way, the promise has been fulfilled... but in a much unexpected way.

and earlier in jan this year, i wrote on the calendar on my office's desk for an event A to happen on 15April2013. however, instead of event A taking place, event B will be taking place. it's really ironic.

tomorrow will be a new start. it's a new journey, new chapter again.

hopefully it's the correct path. that will lead to the outcome that i want.

一切真的是机缘巧合。

希望一切顺利美好，从此平步青云。

day 11 of the trip. just rest and relax...

seriously, cooking is an art. im still trying to figure out how issit possible to have the food cooked, without having the outside being burnt. I have the tendency to under-cook food for fear that the food will be over-cooked or burnt. in the end gotta cook 2nd round. really not easy lorr.

despite the sun, the water was really cold. i had no courage to enter that cold water. hubb did though. try spotting him in the pic. happily wading to join the crowd in welcoming the waves..

as mentioned, the day before, we visited the observation deck at night and there was nothing much to see. so, i decided to go up again in the day, and was glad that i did that, cuz there's really much more to see in the day than at night.

lunch time after that! love travelling, cuz u really get the luxury to just sit down, rest and relax, and watch the world goes by..

 milk shake - we almost always order it during our meals out. cuz all the drinks are equally expensive, it only makes more sense to drink milk shakes over ordinary softdrinks. and the milk shakes are really goooood!!

after that was shopping time at harbour town....

 and our last dinner in goldcoast was at..

 yes, it's shake again!!!! obsessed!!

day 10 of our goldcoast trip. woohoo!

started off with cooking breakfast again. as mentioned - hashbrowns are my favorite!!

seriously, it does require some level of skill to fry good hashbrowns. the amt of oil is crucial. too little oil, the hashbrown will be dry. too much oil, the hashbrown will become soggy and will 'break' easily. too cooked, it becomes over-crispy and will lose the potatoe taste. under-cooked, it becomes too soft and limpy. really.... NOT EASY!!

in anycase, i want to invest in an air-cooker!!

off to seaworld!

i quite like seaworld. it's not so much a themepark for thrilling rides. rather, it's more of a place to see marine animals and kiddy shows..

plenty of chance to get close to the dolphins

they really will toss the balls up and engage their viewers to play

and diego (according to miss cute, he is the cousin of dora)!! i was rather excited, cuz always watch these characters through the cartoons that miss cute watches. and now, in real! hahahhaha. so funny lah. i think we were the only 2 adults who took pic with him.. the rest all had little children with them..

after seaworld, we went to the highest point in goldcoast - the skypoint observation deck.

seriously, should visit the skypoint in the day, cuz at night, there's really nothing to see! my ticket allows unlimited access but hubb's ticket was a one-time entry. so the next day in the day, i went up alone, and the view was soo different. so much nicer than in the night. will blog abt that in the next post.

our dinner that night. finally some chinese food. haha.

we also visited the beach market again and finally decided to take picture with the reptile. there were a few to choose from - snake, chamelone or baby crocodile. we chose the snake. 1st time i came into contact with a real snake. i always thought they are wet, sticky and slimy, but i was wrong. it's dry and smooth! totally different from what i thought!

coming soon to the end of the trip. woo, took me a good half year to finish blogging the 12days... ahahahaha
