MeGA Ice CreAmmmm

celebrated gloria's bday at this benten jap restaurant at illuma.

read abt tis restaurant in the magazine and their main recommendation is this mega super duper bucket of ice cream! apparantly, it was stated on the mag that there are 10 scoops of ice cream, 2 puddings, 1 cake, and tons of fruits and corn flakes and whipped in there.

had wanted to try it all along and so, jio the gals to give it a try.

tada!!!

we were seated juz in front of the area where they prepare the ice-cream and we were ahhing and oohing throughout the ice cream making process. yy refused to believe that it will turn out to be a ultra big tub. and when the ice cream was served, so many other customers turned and looked at us. hahaha

it was stated on the menu that the ice cream serves 3-5. but seriously, i think it will take 8 pple to finish them all up.
half way thru.......

it's not too bad.. juz that it's really ice cream overdose... along the way really kidda sick... cuz when the fruits and fudge and flakes are all gone, it's really simply ice cream left.

our final result....

think we only managed to clear slightly more than half. hahaha.. i reckoned it's not too bad a record given that we all ate a main meal. the main courses are not bad too. worth trying. and of cux, besides the mega ice cream, there are many other smaller sizes ice cream as well. dont be too adventurous if you do not have enuff manpower to conquer it. lol.

lastly, i think all who ordered the mega ice cream will have their pics taken by the restuarant. here's ours. :)

the resturant's at illuma. u cannot miss it since it's juz next to the entrance. do give it a try. not too bad de.

Haiiiiiii

i dont know why.. but it's still quite depressing to know tt i gotta shift.

haii, also dont knw y im taking it so hard.

i really shld be more positive and optimisitic.

but.. the tot of having to shift to a suckier position, having to get to know the new team mates/leader all over again simply sux.

and... my current mentor is ever so busy with his own stuff that he hardly has time for me. there's still quite abit of stuff which he hasnt gone thru with me. and yet, 31st may will mark the end of my honeymoon period and i will have to fully takeover.

notwithstanding the fact that i'll be starting in a new team! urgh!

super sian lah. dont know wad to say liao..

i guess i shld juz njoy this long wkend and welcome the new challenges openly....

and, it really sux big time being a newbie!

My PersOnaL CompuTeR

yay, finally bought a computer i call my own!

it's not a desktop nor a laptop. it's a netbook. and the best thing is, guess how much it cost?? $399!!!! unbelieveable rite??? even cheaper than my camera!

my budget was around $500 and i did come across a few models being tt price at challenger and best. but while contemplating if i should juz spend a little more for better specs and bigger screen, we walked past the newly opened courts in orchard which is now seating at where john little was previously seated.

and we saw this promo for HP netbook for only $399!!!!!!!! wad else is there to think?? juz 'sup' 1st!

it's super portable, given the ultra mini size. the screen is small and of cuz, the specs are not soo good. but given i only need it for basic stuff like surfing, it should be more than sufficient.

actually, a personal com should have come when i was in uni. tt was the time when i truly badly needed a personal com. and probably if i had it then, i could have done better in uni as i will have the comfort of reading and sourcing materials at my own available time. and probably, i'll grad with a better deg and earning more now......

but.... lost time means lost time... no point going back. wad matters is to hold on to now and future.

anyway, after graduation, there's no urgent need for a pers com anymore. and since bro has moved out, i can use his com most of the times now. so there's really no need to buy one. until recently, his good old com also crashed... so.. no choice, but to get one myself lor.

not too bad. now i just need to find out how to get wireless at home so i wont need the modem anymore and can surf anywhere at home. kekekeke....

SaD Lahhhhh

好花不长开 好景不长在

i jus knew things will not be so 'shun' for me......

was notified by my team lead that out of the 8 of us, 2 will have to transfer to another team. still doing the same things, still in the same office, just reporting to a different team lead.

she asked for volunteers and if no one wants to volunteer, she'll choose.

at that mmt, i kind of guess i'll definitely be one of them le. who else to arrow besides the newbie?

but on 2nd tot, i tot she mite not choose me. afterall, im still new. not nice to give a newbie to someone else bah? want to give, also give some1 with experience de rite? somemore, she was the one who interview and rope me in.. yet so soon want to give me up???

so.. i tot it was a 50-50 chance for me.

but juz now.. she came to me and asked if i will be unhappy if she were to trsf me out. she said im not so into things yet but it has been long time relationship with the rest of them...

well..... wad else can i say? newbie 就是要被牺牲 de lorr........

haiiii.....

seriously, i dont mind going to another team and reporting to another team lead. but....

I DEFINITELY MIND LOSING MY CURRENT SUPER 好风水 SEATING POSITION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

this is super depressing.

im gonna lost my private little corner. shucks big time!

haiii.....

but i guess i cant blame her bah. like i say, who else to arrow but the newbie? if i were her, most prob i will make the same decision too. and if i were the old birds, i'll b super angry that i kenna arrowed instead of the noob. well.... but i still cant help but feel like a sacrificial lamb....

MaCau Day I

this little short trip is really short but packed. we left on fri nite and came back on tues morning. in tour agency terming, it'll b 5d4n. but in fact, we only have 3 full days to explore. and amazingly for us, we managed to visit macau, zhuhai and hongkong. lol ~

initially it was quite chui becuz the plan went haywired due to hubb's lousy time management. if there's 1 thing i can change abt him, i really hope he can be better in time managing.......

anyway, tis was the 1st time tt we checked in on our own... and also the 1st time that there wasnt any1 sitting with us. so, the 2 of us had 3 seats to play with. kekeke.....

the flight was a late flight and due to the dilly-dallying, we did not manage to eat at the airport as planned. so had to eat the super expensive stuff on board lor.

the food on board were really expensive. the cup noodle was $5 and the drinks were $3 each. that's like how many times the normal pricing in super mkt!

it's abt 3hrs frm here to macau's airport. we reached at abt 2am. the initial plan was to stay at the airport or go casino till the time when we can check in to the hotel. but in the end, we decided to book an extra nite so that we can check in once we reached macau. lost half a day stay in monetary terms, but it's better than not having a place to slp and being super tired for the nxt few days and we cannot njoy rite?

anyway, we checked-in in the middle of the nite, had some slp and went zhuhai the nxt morning. our hotel's super near to the custom to zhuhai. juz abt 10mins walk. but the clearing of the custom took some time as there were soo many pple.

read this important notice.....

gosh..... i didn't know i was an alien.... and so are u!

once crossed the custom, we reached this super ultra big underground mall. the whole place is somewhat like bugis village/far east. many many small shops selling clothings/shoes/fake branded goods. hmm... i was told that the goods are dirt cheap.. but seriously, they r not all that cheap leh. i think only the shoes are cheap.

~munching on my super soft bread. yummy!!~

the mall is really big, but the things they sell r more or less the same. somemore, need to 杀价 which i hate to do so.  only bought 2 pairs of heels and a boots in the end.

went back to macau at abt 6pm+ where we had our dinner after leaving our stuff at the hotel.

cantonese is commonly spken in macau.  the food also more or less like those in HK.

after dinner was to venetian casino. seriously, b4 i went, i tot the whole of macau is v european style. but seriously, only the casinoes areas are european style. other places are actually old and a little backwards. and the roads are v narrow and cars parked alongside, making the roads even narrower. cant imagine driving there.

the interiors of venetian....

the exteriors.....

the venetian shopping mall. u tot it's daylight?? it's not! it's the wallpapers' effect. it was already v late when we went in and most shops were closed already. v few pple in there also. so, it's really kind of weird when there's this daylight feel in there.. also very european style...

~a real limousine.... woah~

yep, so that's 1st day. 2nd day was in HK. 3rd day then xplore macau. the weather was cool in both HK and macau. but the pple in macau like not v friendly leh and they like to anyohow spit on the streets. urgh. this time round, even the pple in HK also not friendly. i wonder y. boohoo ~

HappinEss

you know how when sometimes things seem too good to be true, u 'll start to wonder if it's all just a dream?

i'm still trying to convince myself that all these r not dreams. im so afraid one day, i'll wake up and all r back to where i originally was.

also, nothing in this world comes free. im soo afraid i'll have to bear some loses for these gains that im getting now.

i wont say im very good now.. but.... it's really a dream come true.

im really one lucky ass.

**********************************

attended a one-day credit course today. the trainer is my current colleague. we are termed as 'credit officers'.  her aside, im the only odd one out, becux all the rest who attended are either personal bankers (PBs) or home loan specialists.

thinking that it was a course day, i tot everyone will be casually dressed but in the end, i was the only one to be ultra under-dressed. -_-"

i tell u, PBs are PBs... they r really good at grooming themselves. the gals.. it was as if participating in pagent.. all slim slim chio chio one. but the guys.. surprisingly.. none can make it (that is, in terms of appearance). i sincerely wonder how are they going to compete with the female PBs.

anyway, i was saying, i was under-dressed. but suprisingly, knowing that all their loan applications has to come thru me for reviewing and recommendations b4 it can go to my superiors for approval, there was no sense of inferiority but superiority!

and it feels really good when pple says 'you should be the expert wad... u approve our loans one lehhh..'

if u like it, u can say im ego. but im definitely not flaunting anything here. i have my fair share of indignation b4 im where im now. im sure u still remb how i used to rattle on work issues here, rite? anyway, if ur really my fren and really care for me, u wouldnt think im flaunting, but will be glad for me, right right right ??! unless of cuz, u do not consider me as ur fren. ops.

anyway, im still honeymooning now. i can only say, so far so good. the rosy impression is still there. things might not be the same 3months down the road, and my rattles may start all over again, but rite at this mmt, im happy with wad i have.

i dont know who to thank. but anyway, i just want to say THANK YOU. to whoever, wadever, for giving me everything tt i have now.

i really really appreciate them. please do not take them away from me, or expect me to lose something in exchange.

please.

FareWell BuFFeT

prior to my last day in the old office, there was an 'official' farewell party for me and it was at this restuarant in holiday inn singapore orchard city centre - window on the park restuatrant. there's this uob card promo where the buffet dinner is 1 for 1, hence we decided to give it a try. the hotel's near somerset mrt station, behind grand central hotel.

~ yun and me on a piece of salmon. very 断背, isint it? keke.. and was the uncle behind looking at us? lol~

~ with liping, who came despite she was on leave that day. when i 1st joined the co, i tot she looks totally like yinghan. kind of shock when i saw her, i tot she was yinghan lorr.. ~

~ with ah kit and jane ~

~ my fav chocolate fondue!!! but the variety of desserts that can be 'gor' with the chocolate fudge was kind of limited :( ~

~ with darren, my superior, whose presence that day was a pleasant surprise. he initially said he's not coming, but at abt 9+, he called and said he's at the hotel already. so touched tt he still came after work despite already so late ~

with the 1 for 1 promo, the price's abt $30 per pax. the ambience is not too bad, but the food variety is really too little. for one, there's no oysters! and the sashimi type is super limited. not worth it at all, if without the promo. kidda disappointed. i think sakura's much better in terms of the variety.

My New PlaCe

3 days have passed and im still surviving! well, there's no reason y i shouldnt be since now is still the honeymoon period. but i cant guarantee that i can still say the same 3mths down the road.

apparently, from wad i've observed so far, everyone is B.U.S.Y.. to the extent that they will choose to lunch in. yah, i've been lunching in for the last 3days as well since there's no one who'll go out to lunch with me. i have no chance to experience the lunch time madness in CBD area yet and no chance to bring my pretty coach wristlet out. boo.

but lunching in is not a bad thing either lah. at least dont have to sqz, queue, chop seats, bear the heat outside. i dont mind lunching in, but i definitely mind self-reducing lunch hr from an hr to a few mins cuz of work. i sincerely hope i will not be soo tied down with work tat i have to make such sacrifices. lunch time will still be an hr even if it's lunching in, rite? haii.. miss the days in TPY whereby we will always la-liang at the HDB Hub area after lunch...

apparently pple here (at least my team which consists of 9pax) aims to leave on the dot, but they will come in super early (ie 7am+) to start work. they dont mind coming in early, but they mind going back late. think most prob due to the fact that they have children waiting at home bah. like CMD, my teammates look young, but many are already married with children. o well, for me, i hate to wake up early. so most prob, i will reach office on the dot but leave late.

this links to the OT issue. in CMD, more OTs means more hardworking. but here, apparently more OTs = less efficiency as it's suggesting to the mgmt that u need more hours to complete ur work. and in CMD, OT means 1.5hr more. but here, OT means working 2hrs more. so far, from wad i've gathered, they seldom make OT claims even if they stay... gosh.. this is real bad news.. my pay will be rather fixed and there's no way i can enhance it anymore. no OT claims, no incentives.. NOTHING!

but the good thing here is, i no longer need to communicate with customers, which is the thing i dreaded most when in CMD. also, my current seating position is superb. it's rite at the back, facing everybody, so i know exactly who is approaching. behind me are rows of cabinets.. so no one knows wad im doing unless they are behind me looking for files in the cabinets. lol!!! and the vending machine here has my fav milk tea and mocha - hot and cold!! kekekek..

work-nature wise, i wont say it's tough, but rather, it's v tedious. many details to take care of, many paper work, many liasing with internal parties, many things to take note. really gotta be meticulous and organised if not will easily commit mistakes and fall into a total state of confusion. generally, the things are quite standard. i believe it'll become real mundane once i get the hang of everything.

like i say, my team consists of 9pax and 5 of them are AM! unlike CMD, where there's only 1 AM in a team of 20+ pple, i will say there'r 2 ways of viewing the situation. 1) little chance of promoting since more than half the team are already AM 2) mgmt is v ready in promoting pple. so long i perform well, i stand a good chance. and of cuz, i will choose to believe in the latter. firmly.

but note, rank difference here is not great. apparently, SOs and AMs and AVPs all do roughly the same thing, unlike in CMD, once u are an AM, u are considered 上神台 liao.

so far, im happy with where im. staying in my own cubicle, doing my own work, dont have to talk to pple...that's exactly wad i've been wanting all the while.

i sincerely hope my happiness will last and it's not a smokescreen to real hell.

and.. i realised in CBD areas, no pedestrains really obey the traffic rules. green light = go does not really apply. rather no cars approaching = go applies totally.

culture shock.

LasT DaY @ CMD

tmr will be my first day at the new dept... argghh.. gotta start from square 1 all over again. haii.. hate the feeling of being a newbiee...

anyway, lunch on my last day was at soup restuarant.

~ my lunch kakis... the lunch group has unknowingly grown larger ~

~ ordered don pie as a treat for all of them.. something like chix pie, but with more solid fillings. everyone loves it ~

~ with my supervisor who presented me with the farewell pressies on behalf of the team. he's a good head, and hopefully, i'll meet someone as good at my new place ~

~ ultra big colorful card, coach wristlet, roses and sunflower. superrrr touched ~

took pics with everyone present that day... but will only post a few here. if ur keen, can take a look at the rest of pics here.

~ my 'disciples'. lol . i trained them when they 1st joined the dept.. the other 'disciple' is eleanor who left even b4 the shifu! keke ~

~ at my current seating position.. im proud of how i managed to clear the table till soo empty :) ~

~ my lorong. when im super sian and demoralised at work, i used to look down the lorong and tell myself that all these colleagues r on the same boat as me. have to don that headset, have to entertain customers, have to hit productivity.. and i felt better as i know im not in this alone.. yet now.. im leaving them.. mmmm ~

~ at the supervisors lorong. hehe~

~ bye bye CMD ~

after that was dinner at lau pat sat with some of them.. shiok !

~ preeetty coach wristlet ~

~ i'll miss them too... ~

really touched by all the effort as there was already an 'official' farewell dinner for me at holiday inn hotel (will blog and post pics later).

thanks to all of them.

tmr will be a new chapter of my life again. jiayou. all the best !!!! being a newbie will be super tough. i will hang in there!!
