FarEwell DiNNeR @ MarcHe 313

out to marche somerset 313 last thurs to celebrate the farewell of caiyun and eleanor. both of them r cousins. caiyun joined 1st and she intro eleanor in and ironically, both of them are leaving together now. all the best in future endeavours gals !!

~that's caiyun, 2nd from the right~

~and that's eleanor on the extreme right~

seriously, marche, together with hog's breath, will be one of the last few choices on my dining list. basically i do not like the idea of having to q outside as well as inside. so many pple inside and soo smoky and have to q and wait and collect the food urselves. kind of silly..

and.. it's soo expensive and only suitable for large groups of pple. and.... marche 313 has the spookiest washroom ever. continue below for the super unpleasant encounters i had..

now my washroom stories...

the 1st time i was there with ying and gals, i already had a vvvv bad experience. we were one of the last few customers still in the restuarant tt nite and i went to the washroom myself.

as marche has this 'farm' theme, the layout and decorations are all wooden with those fake plants and fake moving animals. i already felt v uncomfortable on the pathway into the washroom cuz it gives me a v old and rusty feel.

inside the toilet, the 'wooden' theme runs through. once u open the door to the cubicles, there will be a picture of animals juz behind the toilet bowl and to me, the animals are STARING at me. yes. STARING. totally uncomfortable, but i still went ahead.

inside, i can hear the door outside opening. i was glad cux i tot finally some1 is in the washroom with me. but after careful listening, i realised that there wasnt anyone in the toilet at all, but somehow, the door outside keeps opening by itself and each time it opens, there's this 'eeeennnnn' 'eeeennnn' creeky sound, exactly like those in horror movies.

i tell u, i freaked out totally that nite!

this time round, i went in with susan, caiyun and eleanor. it still gives me the creeps despite im inside with so many pple. susan shares the same sentiments and she refused to use the cubicles, jus like me.

apparently, it's an automated door but becuz the pathway is narrow, so long someone walks past, the sensor will activate the door to open despite the fact that the person did not come in. tt explains why the door opens by itself but no one comes in.

but i tell u, the way the door swings open is exactly like someone pushing it and it's really creepy when the door swings open but u see no one. get wad i mean? i almost scare to tears this time round despite susan standing beside me.....

and the mirrors inside are big and tilted at an akward angle and with the farm music playing in background... i almost fainted.

u have to experience to believe. go visit the toilet in there if u happen to eat there.

to me, no more marche 313 please.

my new fave at swensens. mega burger.

swensens 1-for-1 lunch is super worth it. my mega burger cost only $8.00. it makes it soo stupid to go to fast food restaurants.

and tt explains y we r visiting swensens more frequently during lunch time now. but the promo wil end end-march. and the sakae lunch buffet ended too. sadx..... no more good place for our once-in-a-month-indulgence-lunch.

exclusively mine.

went to this peranakan buffet restauarant with hubb and family last friday. it's at the ATRIUM, inside jurong international biz park. highly inaccessible esp at nite if u do not drive.

the food choices are limited and expensive. and it's not all that yummy. i think the money could have been better spent elsewhere.

there's this little rojak corner to DIY rojak.

~rojak auntie ping in action!~

~the end product! buay pai right..~

apparently you-tiaos are not offered which makes it very crappy to have the rojak. how can rojak not have you-tiaos??! -_-"

i love rojaks.. and i love it with nothing else but only you-tiaos and pineapples and lotsa sauce and peanuts. the you-tiaos must be vvvv crispy and the sauce must be rich. there r 2 stalls near my place selling rojaks but sadly, both cmi..

accompanied mum to attend a wedding lunch last week at conrad centiennial hotel. cutie souvenirs....

she kept complaining on how she dislikes the food to be served individually. seriously, i find serving indivually is a good thing esp when u are sitting with pple whom u do not know. 1) no sharing of saliva 2) no need to paisay. jus eat the portion being served to u. no headache.

celebrated anthony's bday last thurs at chijmes hog's breath. as far as i can remb, i think i only went chijmes once and that was for my secondary school choir performance (right, mich? geee). i would never have tot of going that place if not for jasmine's suggestion.

i totally have no idea wad are available inside and my memories of tt place are vague. surprise to see that there are actually  many restaurants in there. and there's a super atas Lei Garden in there. looks real expensive.. mmm...

~my 3rd time eating hog's breath. conclusion: C.M.I
i dont suppose there'll be a 4th time... they are well known for steaks.. but...it really sux~

~the cake for the bday boy which surprisely was complimentary. we only learnt about it when the bill came~

~the bday boy, oldest of us all and happily married~

~dont ask me y the 2gals had their eyes closed. blame it on the crew who fails to give cue as to when he's going to snap the pic. gaga~

i like hog's breath ambience and settings.. but the food really cannot make it. and chijmes seems like a good place to hang out. can go and try out other restuarants in there in future.

F.A.I.R.N.E.S.S

unfair treatment at work again.

basically we are all grouped into different segments and different segments will handle different profiles. obviously,  different segments will have different targets to meet.

now my questions are:

1) are the targets truly reflective of the profiles that we have on hand?
2) who decides on wad targets to be set for each segment?
3) on wad grounds are these targets being implemented?

feels really indignant when equal efforts are given but some get rewarded but some do not and it's due to some external factors controlled by that small group of pple called 'management'.

when can fairness prevail?

so demoralising and soul-wrecking.

seriously, i think 'fairness' is something only present in an 'ideal world'.

in reality, there's NO fairness.. becuz, it's IMPOSSIBLE to have total fairness.

even though we sit for the same PSLE papers, same O levels papers, same A levels papers - u think that is fair already?

NO!

how do we account for the fact that we have different teachers, different environment etc? who can confirm that the peice of paper given to me doesnt reflect more light to my eyes and therefore caused distraction and caused me to perform worse than u??

how abt the chairs and tables tt we were seated on? we all sit on different chairs and use different tables, who can confirm that such differences will not have an effect on the result?

how about position? i was seated right in front of the hall while u are right at the back. will that make a difference?

see?

it's totally impossible to have fairness.

even though we sit for the same papers, but there are tons of external factors out there which can cause differences in the results we get.

i should stop harbouring the thought that by arguing enough, there'll be a chance of having fairness.

also, i must have inherited alot of mum's genes... if not, why am i always soo good in pushing blames on all other things? it makes me really unbalance when i find that the problem that is affecting me does not lie with me at all! ironic!

maybe there's nothing wrong with the targets afterall.

it's jus me. im just one of the suay ones to be chosen to handle such profiles. LL - lan lanz.

but i choose to believe that it's 能者多劳 tt im chosen to be one of them. ha. talk abt self-deception.

i sincerely pray that such ways of measuring productivity and such KPIs are not used in the new place that im going.

yes, im leaving my current position. will blog abt it later.

for the bettter? for the worse? i have no idea.

i only know that 此地不可久留 and i thank god that i still have the opportunity to escape.

TatiCs in LiFe

received a call from citibank recently, trying to intro me their credit line. the main buying point that lady is trying to put across is - lower interest rate. and she went on to tell wad are the benefits of having lower interest rate.

one of the benefits she suggested was - 'u can use the money to pay for your other banks' credit cards bills'.

i was like 'huh? wad the hell....?' silently in my mind..

i kindly said no.. i dont need it...

and she repeated 'why not? it's of a lower interest rate, so u can use it as spare cash and pay for your other banks' bill............'

seriously... i find that quite offensive to be said to anybody..

so u mean i need to borrow money from ur bank b4 i have money to pay other banks' bills?????!

if only i were nasty and unfriendly enuff to rebutt her that!

________________________________

i seriously do not have the intention to blog that.. until i received a totally different treatment from ocbc, introducing me exactly the same product.

it was a guy who called on fri afternn. basically he told me that there's a free trial for 6mths to take up their credit line... 1 yr free waiver.. if i do not use it, there'll be no charges... i can jus call and cancel if i do not want it after 1 year blah blah...

but the main thing was.. he told me i was the selected few who'll receive a watch worth $110 if i sign up.

and, he'll have a courier man to deliver the form to me at home and all i need is to check thru the appls form, provide photocopied ic, sign and i'll get the watch rite away from the courier man.

true enuff... on sat morning... the man came with the form.... and the watch......

and the deal was closed.

the man who called got his commission and i got my watch. win-win.

conclusion?

1) 人都是贪的. 想人家帮你, 就得先给人家甜头.
2) 措辞很重要. must 'po' pple and let them feel important and priviledged and superior.
3) 投其所好. say the right thing to the right person.

很市侩.

与大家共勉之.

BeiJinG DaY II

everyday started off with breakfast @ hotel, of cux. our 1st hotel was four point sheraton and i suppose it's the best hotel throughout this trip, at least in terms of food.

i remb the 1st breakfast was a disaster cux we did not expect that there'll be soo many pple. basically there wasnt a table for 4 available and we had to split. and as usual, dad being the ever so punctual man, rushed mum throughout the breakfast which resulted in the latter not being able to enjoy the breakfast and nagged nagged nagged for that whole morning.

being punctual and not letting everyone wait is good.. but sometimes, i must admit, dad is really a little on the too guncheong side. and mum... as usual... best at pushing the blame at others and not self... haiiii.....

actually in group trip.. so long we r not the last, or not always the last.. it should still be fine rite? it's quite silly to be on time and wait on the bus while everyone else is still hanging around. but it's also such thinking that causes everyone to be late eventually.. same theory applies for wedding dinners.. ironic isint it?

anyway, after tt 1st morning, we decided to wake up super early for breakfast so tt we will have ample time and 老佛爷 can enjoy her b/f.. *shrug*
