BdaY and BB TeA

celebrated hubb's mum's bday yesterday at din tai fung at jurong point.

*****
heard of this gong cha for awhile already, but only got to drink it recently. there's a new outlet outside plaza sing. so darn many pple buying it!

lucky for us, the q wasnt long when we queued. we ordered, and then was told that the waiting time will be at least 20mins. after that, while waiting for our orders, the q got longer and longeer... and longeeer. i think it takes 20mins to q, and then another 20mins for the order to be ready.

seriously i wont want to spend such long time juz to buy a drink. KOI is long q, but the orders are kidda fast. but this... really bit slow lor.

something different about this bb tea though. i ordered an oolong milk tea and tot i was given the wrong order when it came cux it looks like tea, rather than milk tea.

but after recalling wad my colleague told me about this tea, i stirred and tada, milk tea it became!

actually the layer of milk is on top. u gotta stir and mix it well yourself. mm... kind of foamy.. actually nothing very much different from KOI. the taste more or less the same.

there's another bb tea brand -- eskimo, which i've been patronising recently. it's the only can-make-it bb tea at my work area. so no choice, but to go for it when the craving for bb tea comes. there's also one outlet at dohby ghaut exchange.. eh, not as nice as KOI.. but still can try. also got another bb tea brand - mao kong - in raffles area. those working in raffles should know yea.

looks like this bb tea wave is back again. remb long long time ago, Quickly was the pioneer brand. then after that, sooo many chapalang brands came along and anywhere u go, there'll be a bb tea shop.. be it the shopping areas or the heartlands. then the bubble bursts and it seems like sweet talk is the only one who survived. and then now.....the craze is back again.

anyone interested in started a franchise?

i seriously think there's a demand for good bb tea in tanjong pagar area.

anyone?

PropErTieS

visited shermaine's new house for group gathering on sat last wk. pot luck event where each of was to bring a food item.

and this was my contribution. supposed to be juz plain hotdogs in steam and fry style.. but it turned out more like a hotdog cum veg cum fruit salad. haha. all thanks to mum.

it's a nice nice condo unit at novena.. at top floor.... the lift is super cool. it's a totally transparent lift. imagine u get to see the view outside from 1st floor all the way to the top floor (32 storey, if i remb correctly). it's like sitting on one of those amusement parks rides.

look at the view behind!!

nice and comfy house! imagine coming home to enjoy such nice views! shiok lah!  but it really isint cheap. this unit costed $1.6m! i guess it's more or less that price for a top storey condo at central area. but if im not wrong, she could have top-up another $2-300k for a terrace, but probably an old one in an ulu location lah. but.. it's still a landed lor.. vs a condo.... mmmm..

yy, wad's ur view?

~ this was not taken at the house, but one of the lunch outings. does it look like we were at sushi tei? doesnt look like it rite.. but the fact is, we were lor. juz tt we were seated outside the restuarant at some ulu corner. this was the outlet near china sq. stunned how they managed to create so many seats at the back, outside the restaurant.. mmm but seriously, not too nice sitting here lor... i mean, we paid the same price but for the less restaurant ambience.. boo ~

o yup, and these 2 are my 2 closer new colleagues. really nice pple. :)

*****

recently happened to know of a $39m good class bungalow and out of curiousity, hubb and i had a drive around that rich men area to kpo at the ppties there. u wont believe it.. but some of the houses there are as big as the good old radin mas community centre below my house. kaoz! bloody B.I.G lahh!

then, happened to read in the papers yesterday of some of the most exp houses in singapore. apparently, the most exp pty is $100m with floor area as big as 63 5-rm flats combined!

it's really wtf leh.. y the hell would u want such a big house for??? how many pple do u have to stay in there?? 3 generations of pple huh?

land are already sooo scarce in singapore and ppties are already so expensive. yet these pple.... own the lands, build big houses, juz to house that few pple. u know how many pple can be house if the land is used to build multi storeys flats??!

really cannot understand leh. these pple.. confirm too much money and nowhere else to spend. if not, y would u want a house that has no liquidity (becuz no one else can afford to buy!)?! they better pray for many many offsprings so that the pty can be pass down to next generation. if not.......

the land belongs to u. the house belongs to u. but when u die and u have no one else to pass to....

it'll juz be a vacant house.... sitting on precious land..

*speechless*

PinNacLes @ DuxTon + SuBaRu's FacE Off

went up the pinnacles @ duxton with hubb, sis, bro in law and miss cute some days back. bro in law has got some1 staying there and he's able to get us free 'tix' to go up. yup, if u are not aware, u gotta pay like $5 to get up to pinnacles unless u have some1 staying there who doesnt mind offering u the pass.

initially i tot it was juz a top floor thingie and juz go up, see see and then back down. but in fact, it's a whole long stretch of road up there and u can walk for quite a while.

the scenary up there is superb. by up there, i mean 50th storey. the wind is great and it's vvvv comfortable and at ease. seriously, it's worth it to pay the $5.

it's impressive for a hdb to be so awesome. it looks juz like a condo! i think those who managed to get a unit there is super lucky. the appreciation of the pty is definitely huge.

there are also sports facitilies up there. like those sports facilites near our hdbs, juz that ours are situated downstairs while here, the facilities are inside the building and upstairs. imagine looking at this scenary while exercising away..... darn shiok lah!

some days later, we realised that hubb's dad also has a fren staying there and we had the chance to go there a 2nd time w/o having to pay. but it was raining that day and we were not able to go outdoors. so, we went kpo at the fren's hse instead. at 30+ floor, cant remb exact which floor liao. it's quite spacious and the windows are those from roof to floor de. the views are great and the price they paid was abt $300k+. think it's worth it lor. prime location, new building, condo like style, supberb views...

it's a good place to visit if u have no idea where to go on a boring wkend. do go and take a look. think the pass can be bought at the kiosk nearby. check out the web!

**********

ok, this is kindda outdated as the competition already ended probably 2 or 3wks back. but in any case, this yr we were the most engaged.

we happened to come across the competition ground on the 1st night of the competition. and for tt night, we waited till 1am for the break time to see how the break time will be like. u know, for every 6hrs, the participants will get a 5mins break.. so we really want to see how that 5 mins will be spent...

and then for the subsequent days, we went back everyday after work to see who's in and who's out and whether the person we have in mind is still in the competition or not. bo liao, arent we?

seriously, this is a sicko game. u stand there rain or shine with ur hand intact on the print that u are allocated.. and then for every 6 hrs, there's only a pathetic 5mins break for u to pee/poo (probably not enuff time to poo thou), eat, rest, wash up.. wadever. it's really endurance testing leh!

i wonder how much damage the body went thru for that 3 or 4 days. although after that gruelling 3 or 4days, u get a car that cost $90k+. in other words, in juz 4days, u earn something that many of us could not even earn in a year! mmmm... sounds worthy, arent it?

actually NO! dont be silly! becuz, unless u are the ultimate one winner, YOU ARE BOUND TO LOSE!

after standing for few days not sleeping/pooing/bathing/get proper meals/suffer rain and shine, all u get is a goodie bag and NOTHING else!

so tell me, is it worth it or not?

it's worth it if u can turn out to be the last winner. but most often than not, it's really not up to u to control. u know how u can juz doze off when u get real tired rite??

but then again... there's really no way to know if u will be the ultimate winner ...... until u try.

and so, out of 400 participants, only 1 will win. effectively u stand a 1/400 chance. if u are gungho enuff and 0.25% to u is good chance, do start praticising now, and probably take part nxt yr. $90k in juz 4 days is real good money. and do inform me. i'll sure be there to support!! :)

LasT PubLiC HoliDaY

and so, today should be the last public hol for the year. actually, there's still a xmas day lah, but it suay suay falls on a sat.. so no effect. of cuz, still can look forward to the hopefully half day xmas eve and ny eve, but...in anycase, i just know dec will be a full month with no holidays. boo hoo.

took pa and ma to temple and pray today... the one at bugis. after tt had dinner at shokudo inside bugis junction, juz outside intercontinental hotel.

~ chicken cutlet with omelette rice ~

~ spicy seafood udon ~

~ pork chop omelette rice ~

~ rostti with pork sausage ~

~ red bean cheesecake with green tea ice cream ~

~ green tea ice kachang with red bean, chestnut and mochi ~

the food here are not bad and the service is very good. recommended. total costs for the above was $91.30.

and so, no more public hols ahead..unless u take your own leaves. but as mentioned in previous post, im kidda phobia-tic abt taking leaves liao. so as far as poss, i probably not take leaves already.. until im more chop chop in clearing my work.

in any case, jiayou peeps. year end liao!

DinneRs

met up 2x with my ex colleagues recently. the 1st one was on the friday juz b4 i left for the perth trip.

had dinner at this kichi-kichi restaurant inside ngee ann city. it's actually a fusion b/w steamboat and jap food.

yep, the steamboat 'liao4' are served via conveyor belts juz like at a sushi bar

eh, actually the food not too fantastic here. the tomyum soup was kidda tasteless and the food coming bit by bit.... nice idea, but kind of defeats the purpose of a steamboat buffet when the food are coming a little by a little. not recommended.

seriously, if u want good steamboat, do check out rajah inn. still my personal fav! yummmy yummm yummmm!

after that we searched hi and low for a place to sit and chat. many of the cafes are either closed/closing soon or packed. finally we settled at this 'tea loft' at ion. something alike ya-kun and wang-jiao..but probably slightly steeper in price.

~ nice english angmoh ambience ~

********

2nd dinner was jap buffet at senki at killiney road somewhere 1st wk of nov. tt's where i bumped into domino pizza as well.

~ free fish head for each table. lol. kidda out of place. steamed fish head in a jap restaurant..... kekek...~

seriously i think humans are fan4 jian4 de. or maybe, it's juz me. i always love sashimis and i will treasure them when i order them ala-carte cux i know there'r only a few pieces and have to slowly enjoy. but when it comes to buffet time and i know there will be almost literal 'unlimited' supply of sashimis, i enjoy them much less. in fact, they seem less tasty.... than when i have to order them ala carte.

probably that's y things are only treasured when they are scarce. lol.

anyway, the food here is ok lah. not extremely good or bad. but i din really njoy the meal cuz there was a large rowdy grp of pple talking and laughing sooooo soooo loud some tables away........

after that was 'coffee session' at xingwang cineleisure.

****
yep.. so much for my ex colleagues. now.. to talk abt my new colleagues.

been 6mths since i joined the new dept. seriously, i still do not feel like im part of them. apparently, im missing out on discussions and stuff. im seldom asked for my opinions and usu they will only inform me when things are decided. wtf?! am i like not part of the team??

seriously im offended. say im sensitive.. but im still offended. i dont like to be like the transparent guy and only be informed after everyone else had their say. grrrrr.

and.... i have a feeling that my immediate supervisor doesnt like me. im usually quite right abt these kind of feeling.. and i can feel. haii, it's seriously the worse thing that can happen when ur immediate superior doesnt like u. another grrrrrr.

and... the worse thing in this job is taking leaves. taking leaves shld be an enjoyable thing, rite? but here, b4 u go on leaves, u have to ensure that everything are nicely done up so that others can cover u when u are away. and when others do not cover u as much as u like it, when u come back, it's gonna be hell with the hill-like amount of backlogs.

it's really stress to take leaves. worry got additional things that come in juz b4 my leaves.... worry cannot nicely complete the stuff on hand b4 going away..worry 101 stuff to clear when i rtn... blah blahhh blaaahhhhh

haii.... plain WTF.
