RaYous's FirsT PlaNe RiDe

and so, our 1st travel with rayous!!

i have always disagree with bringing very young baby to travel. why expose them to the so many uncertainties involved in plane rides if it is not absolutely necessary?  the air pressure, the possible pain in the ear due to the pressure, the constraint space etc etc.. and to top it off, the germs!! pple from all over the world in one same constraint space... yuck.

and so, i was determined that we will go nowhere, at least until rayous turns 1. even so, i was still quite worried... but then.. if we dont go now, when should we go? 2yrs? 3yrs? 4yrs?

yep, and so, at around exactly 1yr, we brought him on his first air ride!

but prior to that, plenty of things to pack!

half of my luggage were all his stuff - diapers lah, wipes lah, toiletries lah, milk powder lah, snacks lah, milk bottles lah.... etc etc..

half of the other half of the luggage was all his clothings and towels. so effectively, i only took up a quarter of the space while he took all the rest ~

hubb's luggage was also packed with his stuff. we even brought a basin to facilitate the washing and sterilizing of his milk bottles. we also brought our own kettle!

and the best thing was.... we brought our own travel cot and inflatable bath tub!! believe it or not!

in the end.. the 2 items were proven to be redundant because, the 2 hotels we went to managed to provide us with a baby cot when we requested for it. and, both hotels came with bath tub, so, no need to inflate our own bath tub. piang! so much so for bringing so many things lah. the travel cot was heavy ok!

anyway, the day started with a limo service to the airport. travelling with a kid and 2 seniors is no joke at all. better to have it all planned out logistically..

it's been almost 2yrs since hubb and i last sat on a plane. really.

tada.

prior to the air ride, i was wondering how to belt a baby onboard. so what happens is, there will be a detachable seat belt that attaches to the main seat belt and that detachable belt will be used to belt the baby. haha.

then there will also be bassinet for the baby but that is only for use when the baby is asleep (and provided that ur baby wants to sleep inside). it is not for baby to play or sit on. in the end, the bassinet became something for us to conveniently place all our items on. LOL.

surprisingly and lucky for us... rayous was very cooperative! he fell asleep while sucking when the flight was about to take-off. hahaha! that really deserved a round of applause!

i once read a quote that goes something like - if you want to know how an angel looks like, look at a sleeping child. and.. how true that is!

天下只有妈妈好....

哪爸爸呢?费棒....

and........birthday cake for rayous on board! cool!

happy birthday boy!

and the meals onboard.. fried noodle..

and some egg rolls stuff which tasted quite bad..

i thought the standard of the meals dropped quite a fair bit. no peanuts for snacks.. and no ice-cream for dessert.. must be cut budget. but luckily on the return flight, the standard came back again.. haha.. will blog abt that in due time.

when touching down, dear rayous fell asleep again! hahahahha! hennng ahhh!

the only jialek time onboard was when we tried to change his diaper. as usual, he refused to lie down properly and was kicking a big fuss (yes, even at home, it is very very very difficult to make him lie down properly for us to change diaper!!!!!!!!). no choice, we had to change him on our seats instead of the toilet. uh-oh. lucky the seats came with super large leg space. keke.

all in all, i was surprised and really impressed with rayous's performance during his 1st air ride. heard of the many horror stories and i was expecting something much worse than this. really lucky that he was okay and the ride was considered smooth.

2 thumbs up!
