the last post on the aussie goldcoast trip.
on the day of return.. woke up real early...
our pizza leftover from the previous night
at the airport, before checking in.
and then, the 1st nightmare took place. the hefty penalty of aud180 for baggage excess!!!!!! grrrrr! that really spoils everything!
and then my 2 bottles of organic jam were not spared........ grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!
waiting to board.... with a super foul mood
please take my experience as a lesson! remember to buy extra baggage space!!!!
the penalty!!!!
can u believe this?!
9kg??! wtf?? i think it's due to those storage bags which i brought along. u know, that kind whereby u can suck out the air to save the storage space?? these bags solved my space constraint worry, and in a way, allowed me to buy buy and buy and squeeze everything into the luggage, without considering the possibility of baggage excess. grrrr....
anyway, another lesson to share. after we realised we were in excess of 9kg, we do have the chance and time to re-pack our stuff so that some can go into the hand-held quota. however, to save the trouble and hassle, we decided not to do that, which i regretted later on. we SHOULD have tried re-packing. a kilo less means a kilo less. that's aud20, mind u!
so, if u ever happened to be caught in such a situation, stay calm and try to re-pack if time permits.
the meals on-board
the 6hr return flight is from morning till around evening. so 1 meal on-board is really not enough. we had to order extra...
the pathetic focaccia. the meat was such teeny-weeny piece. and the crew were so busy that they simply handed me the sandwhich cold. i had to request them to heat it up for me.
seriously, i pity the crew on such long-haul frill-free flights. on those full board flights, the crew doesnt have to think, they just serve and they dont have to collect money. and most of the time, the food are already prepared. for those short-haul budget flights, passengers who order and buy are not many, so it's easy to handle. but for these kind of long-haul flight, passengers are likely to order and purchase, so the crew have to take order, remember order, collect money, prepare the food, serve... blah blah blah.... really not easy.
and... do remember to have enough money to buy the food on-board. the passenger in front of us tried ordering soon after the flight embarked, but because she had no cash and her cards were not acceptable, she was not able to purchase anything. i guess she went on a hungry stomach for the rest of the near-7hrs... poor thing..
and in all, it had been a good trip. could be better if not for the penalty and the jams. scoot is not too bad, juz remember to buy extra baggage, and be prepared to spend onboard for the meals.
next up, maldives via SQ next week!!! hopefully no such hiccups :)
