day 2 started off with buffet breakfast at the hotel.
wide food variety and it's the only hotel breakfast i came across so far that serves fresh fruit juice. they have crew there specially to prepare the juice for u. u choose the fruits, they squash for u on the spot. cool!
after breakfast, we checked out and embarked on the 2nd day itin at 9am.
1st place was to the local food products shop. the usual items... biscuits, crackers, durian rolls, chips.. etc.. it's a super big shop though. think it's some old house-brand in malacca.
and then, was back to jonker street, as we were told, the shops that close at night, will be opened in the day. and yes, day and night are totally different! all those stalls at nite werent there in the day! so, this jonker street is in fact, a night market. do visit at night and not in the day.
and... i was terribly bitten in the day! u know when mosquito bites, that area kenna bitten will become hot and itchy? look at these! i was already hot and sweating due to the weather, and with these bites, it was supeeeer hot and uncomfortable lahh!!!! eeek.
and a face in agony to supplement
but luckily, it's jus those harmless bites.. after awhile, the swell subsided and no more itch liao. luckily not those that will swell for very long, painful and itchy and leave marks.
after that was a visit to a peranakan museum. no photo-takings allowed inside.
and then, was lunch... durian buffet!!!
damn shiok lah. i think the happiest way to eat durians is to be in big groups, and when one is open, in less than a min, all the seeds of flesh will be taken. and the vendor has to keep opening so as to keep the supply going. haha. literally durian buffet leh. unlimited supply, until no one wants.
do not eat durians? no worries, have beehoon/noodle/chix wings/curry veggie to supplement. but of cuz, if u do not eat durians, then super lugi liao larr. the durians all fat and yellow flesh. darn nice. :)
next was to this bird nest factory/retail outlet.. which we have already visited during our batu pahat trip the other time. think it's located along the route back to sg, so can be fitted into the itin. after that was to a food product outlet, which again, we have also visited the other time.
with my tambun biscuits. haha.
and finally, to the restaurant where we had dinner b4 coming back to sg.
i bet there'r more to explore in malacca then juz that. probably 2d1n is not quite sufficient. apparently, the batu pahat trip is more fruitful with more places to visit.
and, i can confirm now, that package/guided tour is more suitable for the folks. they are happy throughout. esp mum. u can see from the photos.. that kind of smile.. seldom appear in the HK pics. if u look at the HK pics, it's mostly forced smile, or plain agony. boo.
well, cant blame and understandable lah. guided tour got full transport. dont have to walk like mad and wadever u buy, u can juz dump in the bus after that, no need to carry like mad. all things are nicely plan and u just follow. in a way, it's more relax than a F&E tour. though F&E, u have more control over the time and no need to wait here wait there, i think the benefit of having full transport is still better.
yup. so, something to share if u are bringing folks overseas. i would never have realised the differences if i'd never brought them on a F&E trip. hopefully that's something u can take home :)
