this wkend was spent in JB with hubb and his family. purpose was to attend a wedding celeb on sunday afternoon.
we went in on sat..
bigg BB tea icon in city sq
had our very late lunch at the hk cafe in city sq. my order. spiral pasta with scallops. the pasta was not bad... but.....
have u seen scallops as small as these ???? real disappointment lah.
also tried out the drinks soaked in ice. apparantly, the idea is to keep the drink cool without having the ice melting and diluting the drink afterwards. i tot it's a rather interesting and innovative idea but hubb and his bro think it's rather dumb as it doesnt really keep the drink cool. o well.
after that we checked in to our hotel - zon regency. yep.. think this is the 3rd or 4th time we stayed in this hotel?
shopped around at the mall juz below the hotel. tried out the coin massage chairs. not too bad ohh. rm1 for 3mins. kekeke.
night time we went to a nearby seafood stall and ate seafood. kidda dark and juz like the zhi zhar in sg, so no pics.
and after dinner, was ktv session! real cheap! about rm10/head for 3hrs!!!!
we sang till one plus.. before retiring for the night..
and.. the next early morning... we checked out real early.. about 930..
they look super alike, dont they?
reason for waking and checking out soo early, was to eat at this super famous noodle stall. i din know it's famous until i realised, anyone whom u ask in JB, they will know this noodle brand.
in singapore, we have ah kun loti.. and in JB, they have ah koong fishball noodle!
eh.. actually.. it's juz noodle lorr.. nothing really that good... i think the stall at the hawker centre near my place is better eh? but the small side dishes like fried fish cakes and orh hiang are really not bad. very crispy. and.. they sell the best white coffee here! i've never quite drink any white coffee as good as this b4.
and next, we went to the restaurant where the banquet was held.
it's juz next to a shopping mall, so we went shopped at the mall first, since it was still early. the mall's big.. but sadly, i bought nothing at all! tried out a few pairs of shoes, but either dont have my size, or dont have new ones.. booo!!!
and then.. the wedding lunch. if im not wrong, it's norm for msians' wedding to be lunches and not dinners. and we are from the bride side. and know how is hubb related to the bride? he's her biao-uncle! meaning to say.. the bride is the grandchild of hubb's mum's elder sis. bit chim right? but in anycase, by seniority, hubb is more senior than the bride! stunned!
and... i realise msians really do marry early.
1st time i attended a wedding banquet in msia and it's really quite spectacular! dont believe? see....
really as if it's some concert right....
look at how big the stage is... juz like a school hall stage...
the flow of the wedding and the food more or less the same as in sg. banquet started late as usual and always.. then cake-cutting.. then food.. then wine toasting etc.. but instead of coming to each table to take pics, the couple and family and brothers came to each table to yum-seng instead. no pic taking for each table de.
i really like the food!! yummmy!! but there is no sharksfin.. :(
roast pig!
hubb with his fav roast pig....
lotus rice... fav... but i was really tooo full to eat more le....
and fav dessert of all time.. honey dew sago!!!!
as mentioned.. there's a mall nearby and this is it. abt half hr drive from custom.. somewhere new to explore besides city sq :)
whole banquet ended at about 4+ and we were back in town by abt 7. come to think abt it, wedding lunch also not bad right? it wont end soo late and the guests wont be so tired. most importantly, the price is way cheaper than dinners.. mmm.. can consider huh. hiak hiak.
