Last day of the month!

Wheew!

May.. Extraordinary month indeed...

Went back to office after a good 1+yr... Then after that back to wfh again.

Lol. 

Then 2nd (partial) lockdown..

And then keeping the boys at home again... Self inflicted CB.. As I said..

OK, looks like the cases now have stabilised... And PM Lee's speech just now also quite positive on the current situation.

Umm..

OK.. Should be good to send the boys back to school by end this wk or latest next week le ba...

ahhhh... 我们自找的 CB..........!!!!

really could have just continue to send the boys to school and BAU.... 

but really abit scare too... esp so when westgate and jem had to shut too. so jurong area really not too safe huh... 

and just when we tot the situation is better...today's cases seemed to be on the rise again.

but our 'CB' experience this yr is better than last yr la. 

guess cuz both boys are older and more independent, and my workload has not been as madness as last yr, so still not so bad having to work and take care of them at the same time.  

so, morning, no need to wake up so early liao. 

in the past, only need to make bf for myself.... now, have to make for all 4 of us! workload x 4 lor. damn

then let them watch tv for an hr.... toxic!!

but unlike last yr, this time, i exercise strict control over screen time liao. 1hr means 1hr (or lesser). after that will be play time! 

look at the sweat! ha

and then lunch, and then tv again, then play again, then napped, then tv again, then dinner, before play and/or homework! 

yes! i make sure we dont waste time at home and they continue to learn at  home (unlike last yr!!!!)

last yr havent got hooked on to shopee, so din know can also buy assessment books online. this time round smart liao! faster buy more and let them do more!

and the school also sent in material for us to do with them...

according to the school, the attendance is about 50%. so 50% of the kids are still going to the school. honestly, i bet the school must be most happy about it. continue to collect school fees but no need to cater to as many children. duh.

should really consider sending them back to school asap!

these 2 boys ahh....

but the most sian part out of all these, is really the increasing expenses in food and the junk food that we've been eating!! 

daily spend on average is about $25 - $35 on food delivery lor. 

honestly, i think the prices at the delivery platforms are marked up de. if you buy yourself at the stall, it will be cheaper. for eg, nine fresh bbt, if you buy at the shop, is $2.60. but if you order online, it's $3.30. that's almost a 30% mark-up! 

so, delivery really quite exp de. one noodle easily $5.90, or chix rice $5.50 these kind of price... 

so... everyday order delivery, even only for 1 meal only, is quite chor. 

but no choice lor, cuz like i say, if we cook ourselves, also need to buy the ingredients and 煮来煮去, same old stuff, also 不行 right... 

yay, so, just hope the situation can stabilise soon and the boys can return back to school. 

then 就天下太平了....

An attempt to have online piano lesson! 

Yes, after tuition and enrichment lessons are mandatory to be conducted online, the piano lesson also shifted online! 

 But it was a failed attempt, after the teacher realised that we do not have a piano at home!

So in the end, the verdict was to resume physical lessons when possible.

This Covid19 ah... Really disruptive.

Though the base of the top layer will kenna the soup and u need to clean it before placing on the table. 

OK, 4th day keeping the boys at home. 

And we have been ordering delivery for lunch. 

Increasing expenses xia! 

During the CB last yr, we will cook 2 meals a day. So hardly need to order delivery.

But again, the more u cook, the more u need to buy the ingredients also right? And that will also cost money right. And not to mention having to travel out to buy the ingredients. Remb the frustrations last yr?! 

And... 煮来煮去，same old thing... 

So this time round, dont struggle liao. Just cook 1 meal will do. 

Lol.

And we bought the grab package, $1.99 or something, and can get $4 off delivery fee for 30x. And sometimes, will have those free delivery if can meet the min order. So not too bad.

Yes, I'm one who is very gei gao on the delivery fee. Just doesn't make sense when the delivery fee is high enough for me to purchase another item on the list. 

And very happy, cuz grab always have this 'tea time delivery' where they deliver for free from 3pm to 5pm, i think.

Damn happy.

Just nice for me to order bbt when craving for it.

RaSa SenToSa DaY 3 - 1 MaY 2021

Day 3 of our staycay at rasa sentosa! 

Heng pot for us ah.. Cuz after that got cfmed covid19 case at the hotel..

After that, took the tram ride again, had lunch, and home sweet home. 

Overall not bad. I think the buffet bf very nice. 

Many facilities for the kids and we missed out on using their indoor playground and art n craft session.

But abit crowded la. Esp the pool, compared to the past pools we went to which were almost empty.

Yup, next staycay will be during Rayous's bday..

Hopefully the covid19 situation wb better by then. 

好彩managed to meet up before the 2pax limit kicked in. 

 Great catching up at Raffles Hotel lobsters and burgers, to celeb glo's bday.

Nice food!

Will visit again when possible. 

Alamak.... Why I so garang, never send the kids to school???

Honestly, quite worried about the recent spike in cases.. 

So, think monitor first... See if the situation improves.. Though I bet it will worsen, before improvement slowly takes place. 

Ahhh.. it's really super sian to have them at home while working.. 

And really wasting their time when they could be learning in school.. 

But given the situation now, think staying safe takes priority la.

And no reason why we can stay at home, but push them to school and take the risk right?

Sigh.

Schools to shift to HBL liao.

Though child care and student care are unaffected at the moment, bet it won't be long before all to be closed, except for parents in the essential service.

Wah lau eh.. Really all.over.again.

And now dilemma again liao..to continue sending the boys to school, or not?

Go school, scare high risk.

Don't go school, stay home is a pure waste of time, esp so when we r wfh and no time to entertain them....

And the developments really very fast lor.

Last week still happily go fly kite, eat A&W, still complaining about having to go back to office work..

Suddenly, bom!

This week, 急转而下。。。

Omg max. 

Our last seat-in meal.... Before the heightened measures take place tmr. 

Sighhh... One Yr ago had the last seat-in meal... Now.. Again.. 

 Really have to 检讨what went wrong and how to prevent it from going wrong again. 

But honestly, I think we did handle it better this time round la. Though there were news that pple still cheong to the supermarket to purchase, the situation definitely was better than last yr. 

Was at jurong east fairprice and giant just now. Yes, fairprice q was definitely longer than usual, but not as kua zhang as last yr. The shelves are also still quite packed, not like last yr. And giant, everything OK leh. Not many pple too. Or maybe cuz I went to the ulu one at greenridge? Really ulu, our 1st time there too. Lol. 

And managed to get the boys cut their hair too. Also OK leh, no crowd. Heng ah. 

Yup, so... Tmr back to hermit life liao. Quite sian really, cuz we will almost always go out every weekend evening, for dinner and quick shopping. Cuz really don't wanna stay home and let the boys watch TV. 

Siannn. Now cannot go out tog liao.. Also cannot do sports tog.. Omg.. 

And my bigger fear.... That the schools will close.... And the boys are stuck at home with us 24/7.... Again.....

 OK, happy aside, abit sian also..Cannot dine out liao.. And all activities capped at 2pax?? Effectively means we cannot go out as a family liao lor.

Wah. Stuck at home... Sianx max.

And the most sianx thing, will be to go out to buy grocery!!! Omg. Battle grounds!!! 

Go out tabao food also very sianz...

Wonder why the sudden spike in cases again, after sooo many mths of peacefulness..

RaSa SenToSa DaY 2 - 30 April 2021

Day 2 of our staycay! 

Yummy yummy food. Good spread! Yumx

One big table by ourselves. Whoot! 

After that, was pool time!! 

Didi was super happy playing here. 

I think this hotel has many kids facilities, so very popular among families with kids. The pool was quite crowded, I must say, as compared to some of the other hotels that we went to. 

Even got water slides for kids to go onto.. 

Enjoying by the poolside.

After that, back to hotel to sleep, before ordering some snacks... 

And finally, out for dinner!! 

Also took the tram and toured around the island.. 

And that was on the tram that we realised the best job on earth!! 

So what happened was, there was this grp of boys running after the tram that we were on. 

So they were all panting when they board the tram, and some of them pulled down their masks. And they started chatting. 

We were right behind them and honestly, we were quite uncomfortable la. No mask and still talking away.. 

So the tram continued the journey, and suddenly, out of nowhere, a security guard riding a bike stopped by. He came down, pointed straight at those boys and shouted 'IS THERE ANY REASON WHY YOU ARE NOT WEARING YOUR MASK??!'. 

Shouted. Literally shouted. 

All of us stunned xia. 

After kbing abit more and making sure they wore their masks back, he went back to his bike and rode off. 

Wow

Like wtf?? 

Wearing a helmet, sunglass, mask, no one knows who he is, just come here kb kb kb and then ciaoz. 

Damn shiok la. 

This kind of job, where to find xia?! 

Really the best job!

Anyways, after dropping from the tram, it was dessert time! 

Ya.. Really eat and eat and eat non stop la..

 And then went back west and decided to dine in jurong point. Walked past this A&W and surprisingly short q.. So decided to give it a try. 

Ahhh, eat liao 才知道why they will close shop N yrs ago... Really nothing very special lor. Burger small and taste just like macs cheese burger. Curly fries dry and oily... Hotdog is the worse, really just bun and hotdog! Not to mention the root beer float can also replicate at home. 完全没卖点。

And.. My mother days present! A preserve rose! Wahahahahaha
