BdaY and BB TeA

celebrated hubb's mum's bday yesterday at din tai fung at jurong point.

*****
heard of this gong cha for awhile already, but only got to drink it recently. there's a new outlet outside plaza sing. so darn many pple buying it!

lucky for us, the q wasnt long when we queued. we ordered, and then was told that the waiting time will be at least 20mins. after that, while waiting for our orders, the q got longer and longeer... and longeeer. i think it takes 20mins to q, and then another 20mins for the order to be ready.

seriously i wont want to spend such long time juz to buy a drink. KOI is long q, but the orders are kidda fast. but this... really bit slow lor.

something different about this bb tea though. i ordered an oolong milk tea and tot i was given the wrong order when it came cux it looks like tea, rather than milk tea.

but after recalling wad my colleague told me about this tea, i stirred and tada, milk tea it became!

actually the layer of milk is on top. u gotta stir and mix it well yourself. mm... kind of foamy.. actually nothing very much different from KOI. the taste more or less the same.

there's another bb tea brand -- eskimo, which i've been patronising recently. it's the only can-make-it bb tea at my work area. so no choice, but to go for it when the craving for bb tea comes. there's also one outlet at dohby ghaut exchange.. eh, not as nice as KOI.. but still can try. also got another bb tea brand - mao kong - in raffles area. those working in raffles should know yea.

looks like this bb tea wave is back again. remb long long time ago, Quickly was the pioneer brand. then after that, sooo many chapalang brands came along and anywhere u go, there'll be a bb tea shop.. be it the shopping areas or the heartlands. then the bubble bursts and it seems like sweet talk is the only one who survived. and then now.....the craze is back again.

anyone interested in started a franchise?

i seriously think there's a demand for good bb tea in tanjong pagar area.

anyone?
