RoyaL CarriBean - 4th to 7th MaRcH

yeah, we were onboard the royal carribean - mariner of the seas - from 4th to 7th march. actually the cruise plan was kind of impromptu, just to give ourselves one last trip before baby's arrival. once baby is here, guess we wont be able to go on any trip for years le. mm.

and tada, mariner of the seas! boarding is no longer at harbourfront centre, but at marina cruise centre.

actually, mariner of the seas is very much like legend of the seas, which we took in 2012. the decorations etc are more or less the same, just much bigger, especially the casino.

I thought the casino in mariner is much more comprehensive than that of legend's.

the automated sic-bo game! hahaha. but this time round I din really gamble lah. just see see look look.

and the many jackpot machines of cuz.

that's our room, with balcony. nice and neat. good thing is that they will come and pack 2x a day. haha.

ok, and when the room's in a mess. hoho.

now for food, usually we will only visit 2 restaurants - one is the windjammer, the other is the more atas one (cant remb the name..)

this is the more atas one whereby they will give u specific timings and seats for lunch and dinner. if you missed your timing, then that's it, you will have to dine elsewhere. for breakfast, that's no timing, it's 1st come 1st serve. and I tell u, the breakfast queue is madness! better go early!

the food are ordered through their daily menu which is different everyday. atas in a way that the food are served course by course and you get to choose from a few choices b/w the appetizer/main/dessert.

escargots! served the exact way we had it when we were in Europe.

actually quite sad for me, cuz my food choices are very limited. in the past I would have gone with medium-well beef, smoked salmon etc etc WITHOUT qualms.. but now, all cannot le. even for desserts, I also kidda worried... don't know if they contain raw eggs or what.. grr.

there are plenty of fanciful items on the menu... but the safest bet, should be to go with pure ice-cream le bah... haiz.

ok, then atas restaurant aside, you can also choose to visit the windjammer which is really the buffet restaurant. I don't quite like to dine here, cuz it's hard to get seats. it's just like a big foodcourt, to put it simply. but the good thing is that the timing is flexible, so u can just drop by as and when.

all kinds of food, but as usual, for me.. quite limited..

and lastly, if you just don't want to sqz with pple, then go for room service! available all the way till like 2am, I think? and it's FOC! we ordered 2x, once for breakfast and once for dinner. but don't expect too much, the food are really simple and basic although the menu stated the names to be very fanciful.

ok, and then there's also one snack bar which serves snack all day. other than that, there are of cuz other restaurants and bars etc, but those will need to pay liao. hehee.

and then day 2, we arrived at msia kuantan's port. a number of land tours available for signing up, but we joined none lah. juz R&R on the cruise. kekek.

and day 2 night was also the formal night, where we were all supposed to dress formally lah. I din think too much about it, cuz what's a formal night doing in a cruise huh?! but hubb took it quite seriously, with his long sleeve shirt, trousers and shoes... (which took up so much of our luggage space lah! )

but lucky we din wore too sloppishly, cuz apparently, everybody else really did dress up! especially the Koreans! I don't know why, but there were many Koreans onboard this time. and all of them wore their traditional Korean costumes. really the traditional traditional da chang jin kind. woowow.

and many others also wore gowns etc. really like going for wedding dinner leh.

and day 2 night was also to meet the cruise's senior members.

that's the captain in white in the middle, waving his hand.

day 2 night was also the retro dancing night which I did enjoy myself, shaking around with my big arse and tummy. LOL.

OK, then came day 3, which was quite a terrible day. day 3 early in the morning, we went to queue for breakfast at the atas restaurant. the queue really took darn bloody long lah. while queuing, can already felt the cruise shaky. then finally, our turn to go in. throughout I was already feeling dizzy and uncomfortable.

and then, halfway through, I knew it coming. I immediately exited the restaurant, wanting to find the loo, but the loo was just not anywhere in sight. and then, it just gushed out... yes, I vomited again... in one corner, on the carpet. OMG.

lucky hubb was with me and he managed to get help from some staff, else I wont know what to do cuz my face and hands were all dirtied. after that went to the loo and had a good 2nd round! vomited all out! grrr!

and that's not all, cuz later in the evening, I vomited again after dinner. but this time round, not as chuiz liao, cuz I had vomit bags with me already! hoho. really terrible xia. I never used to suffer from sea-sickness.. but now.. haiz again.

ok, then entertainment, casino aside, also got bingo game. but unlike legend whereby there were a few bingo games per day, mariner only has 1 or 2 games throughout the whole cruise. and the prize money was a whoping USD1K! too bad we din win lah.

and we caught almost every live show. heh. 1st night was acrobatic by an angmoh couple. 2nd night was music and singing. 3rd night was juggling and the farewell closure. also got one afternoon with ice-skating show.

and that's the cruise entertainment director

the signature towel animal. haha.

all in all, I will say it's very much like legend of the seas. and becuz of my condition now, there are many many things which I will used to do, but not now anymore. for example, SUN TANNING! ultimate haiz.

what is a cruise without the sun huh?!

and then, food has to be selective and also limited energy supply. walk too much and back will start to ache again.

but still good to go on one last trip before the many years to come lah.

yeah. better appreciate.
