it's a new month again! october le!! entering the last trimester of a year! OMG!
anyway, today marks the rejoining of an ex-colleague, after she left for another dept for less than a month.
yes.
i think she was in the new dept for less than 2 weeks before she decided she's not suitable there and wants to come back to my dept.
uh-huh.
ok, she's not the classic yet. there was once a colleague who left the company totally and joined another company, but requested to come back after also less than 2 weeks in the new company.
haha. steady?
looks like grass is not always greener on the other side.
ok.. i shant comment on others... since myself had once threw in the towel but retracted.
LOL.
i started maternity on 11 july and less than 3 months down, 2 colleagues left. and if im not wrong, one was being transferred away, while the other had been asked to leave.
the one being asked to leave finally lose the battle with the mgmt. or rather, instead of saying she lost the battle, i should say she'd lost the war totally.
actually really very sad for her. she's in her late 50s (i think), quite high rank and been in the industry for awhile.
i do not really have a direct working relationship with her but from all that i heard and observed, i knew she is not one easy to work and deal with. but she's been ok to me all the while and occasionally will jio me for lunch. not too bad a lady in my opinion but i cant speak the same for those who work with her.
i think all those who had been working with her had been tolerating her. even the ex-boss. it was not until the new boss came in in 2013 that she finally met her nemesis, who eventually killed her.
actually it's quite amazing that she can still tahan till now, despite the boss obviously scrutinising and making things very very difficult for her.
quite sad, cuz after working all your life, this is the ending you received. a younger boss came in, not happy w you, makes life very difficult, and eventually chased you away.
it's really hard cruel fact. in this rat race, if you are not right at the top, it's so easy to let pple crush u down. if young, still ok. but imagine, after working for the whole of your life, obtained a relatively high rank and status... but kenna kicked out just like that.
it's scary.
i definitely do not wish to have an ending like hers.
work smart, not hard.
at the end of the day, it's money and family that matters most.
life lesson learnt.
