xmas xchange w the dear gals this yr was held at my house! woohoo! 

our initial choice of presents... 

and our final presents after changing and swapping. ha. i received yy's bag which is in the shape of a champagn. yy received qy's bag. glo received my present which is a necklace w 7 crystals pendant. jo received glo's present which is a tumbler. and qy received jo's present which is an eye/face massager. 

and finally, the kids get to meet and gather. wowohahaaha

great gathering w everyone. turned out not as chaotic as we feared. LOL 

probably not as chaotic, cuz the number of adults vs kids is still quite big. we shall see what happens when more kids come along!

RaYous's Full Day SchooL

yeah, so rayous will be officially starting full day school today. 

for the past 5 days, it was still half day, from 9 to 12pm, to let them orientate. but today onwards, we can put him from 7am to 7pm liao. kekkee. 

finally! 

been wanting to put him full day since august2017 (when my maternity ended), but was told no vacancy. so now, finally.

i think the happiest will be MIL. cuz she no longer needs to travel to and fro 4x, and she no longer needs to take care of 2 kids most of the time. now she only needs to go and pick rayous up, and most of the time, she only needs to handle raythorous, since rayous will be in school liao. 

phew! 

i can tell u, taking care of 2 kids is no joke. though she got FIL and the maid to help her, .. it's still tough! not to mention she still has to cook. so, happy to relief her abit.

and though i feel rayous may still be too young to totally sleep, eat, shower in school, i think it's good to expose him more. else at home, most of the time he also sleeps or just play w toys. 

some may say it's very 'kelian' to put him in school so young. i used to tot so too. but at this age, they are really learning alot and learning fast. now, i feel it's only wasting his time and potential if we were to keep him at home. unless we can really teach him at home and always bring him out to explore, but... who has the time and energy??

so,  better to leave it to the professionals to teach him. let him learn more, play more, expose more and interact more! 

and i do see improvements in him after going to school. like he can eat on his own and sometimes, what he says also surprises me. like he knows a to z, big and small, hot and cold, the different animals, the different kind of vehicles etc.. and 1 day, he happened to see '17' and he said 'seventeen'. that really surprised me and hubb. 

yeap. so hopefully he can adapt well and learn more things and have more fun!!

i can only say, kids these days, are really different from us back then. 

hoho! 

StayCaTioN on XmAs DaY & BoXinG DaY

yeah, so on xmas day and boxing day, we had our staycation at studio m hotel. 3d2n stay.

it's a loft room, so there are 2 levels. i will say the room is quite small. good for couples or friends, but definitely not suitable for us with young children. 

the bathroom and toilet are separated and they are really small. and there's no proper wardrobe. 

with raythorous, we really had to bring alot more things along.. kua zhang dao..... 

.... we brought the whole steriliser along! believe it or not.. 

and the steamer/blender to cook his food! we even brought our own potatoe, carrot, veggie, knife, peeler etc.. even had to bring along 2 basins - one for washing milk bottles and pumps and the other for bathing! seriously.... !

our dinner for 1st night - food panda. 

2nd day morning, started w the hotel buffet. 

ok la, quite standard stuff, nothing fantanstic. 

then swimming time! the pool also nothing fantastic. just a simple rectangular pool. and the other side is a square jacquzzi pool. 

the water was soooooo darn cold lor! surprisingly the kids were ok with it and rayous even said it was not cold! raythorous was happily kicking in the water as well. now i seriously suspect kids are not as sensitive to temperature as adults. so cold and yet they are ok...... brrrr.. 

anyway, i couldnt bear the coldness. i did not even try going into the water, cuz it was just tooo cold to bear. after a while, i went back to the room w raythorous while hubb played awhile more w rayous. 

then evening time, sis and tricia came along!

and we had dinner outside.. 

and then tricia came back w us and had a sleepover! haha! good to have a little helper to help look after and entertain rayous! 

and that same night, raythorous was a handful! he did not want to sleep and kept waking up. and know what? in the middle of the night, the breast milk ran out, and i couldnt pump anymore, and hubb had to go back home to bring the frozen milk to feed him! really that kua zhang ok!! 

really terrible la. and not to mention, the room itself has no fridge. so each time after i pump, we have to ask the staff to come and collect the milk and help store them in the hotel's fridge. and when we need the milk for feeding, we have to ask them to collect from the fridge and pass to us again! this to and fro process repeated for dont know how many times lor!

breastfeeding is a nightmare! 

should have just taken the easy way out and feed him formula! grrrrrrrr

this ah di... really... haiiizzz.. really waiting for the day when he can truly sleeps thru the night... 

yay, so, tis staycation is a preview of our upcoming taiwan trip. we concluded that we need big rooms (with fridge!!!) and we need more help. 

originally, we were contemplating if we should bring the helper along. but just yesterday night, raythorous gave us a super hard night again. so bad so that hubb thinks we should just not bring raythorous for the taiwan trip. 

well... i dont know... if dont bring him, it will definitely be easier for everybody. but.. feel guilty not bringing him along leh.. 

haii.. ok.. lemme think abt it and see how yeahhh.... 

Happy 2018!

ahaha, parents in law are back from their hainan trip on 30 dec. so on ny eve, we happily 撇下 the 2 kids and went pak tor! LOL. 

had our dinner at this restaurant in westgate, just outside isetan and time zone. seen this restaurant a few times already, and always tot it's a cafe that serves desserts, cakes, coffee and tea. who knows, it actually serves korean fusion food. ha. 

and the food is not bad. not expensive also. 

and they've got some really interesting cakes like green tea lavendar cake, earl grey cake, thai milk tea cake etc. in the end hubb chose the salted caramel choco cake. the cake so-so only leh. maybe abit hard cuz just came out from the fridge. should have waited for it to melt abit, maybe will be nicer. and it's really one tall piece. 

ok, la, dont say we 撇下 the kids ok. we did bring them home for the countdown la! such a special moment, how can not be with the kids??

initially wanted to go to the countdown party at boon lay de (just like what we did last yr). but it started raining, and we decided not to go, but to go back home to watch the countdown via tv instead. 

so took a pic at the void deck lor. supposed to be an 'open mouth happy' pic. but this hubb tot it's a 'yawn' pic. duh. and yes, raythorous was fast asleep already.

went home and attempted the 'open mouth happy pic' again. and with ah gang. LOL. 

yep, so we watched the countdown via the tv, and welcomed 2018 ~

new year day!

left the kids at parents in law place and we went out jalan again! kekekeke.

finally finally finally get to sit down and properly eat steamboat liaoooo!! had wanted to bring hubb to this steamboat restaurant for a long loong loooong time. finally did. very happy!! 

this restaurant is call hai xian lao at wilkie edge. honestly i felt it is as good, if not better, than hai di lao. really recommended to give it a try. 

after that, we went shop for my present. 

heehehehee. 

had wanted to buy an anklet for the longest time. i used to have one, but i think i misplaced it liao. so now, wanna buy one again. unfortunately, almost every jewellery shop that we asked, sells only gold anklet. finally poh heng sells this gold anklet that has plated white gold. so it doesnt look as 俗气 as a total gold anklet. 

and i A hubb to buy it for me. no apparent reason or occasion. but just tot he should buy something for me. LOLLLL.

after that we went massage at this spa massage somewhere in s'goon, before heading to IMM and eat gelare for dinner. 

yeaa.

ok, few more hours to welcoming 2018!

bidding farewell to 2017 is definitely less emo than bidding farewell to 2016.

remb i was quite unhappy when welcoming 2017, but, im quite happy now. 

haha

2017, as usual, has been supeeeeer fast!

it has been a good year. and much had been achieved.

i was promoted (finally!). hubb was promoted. he also obtained his PE registration. we have a new car. we engaged a helper. rayous started school. and of cuz, the arrival of raythorous (and 4months away from work again. yeh)!  

come 2018. 

减肥!!!!

if cannot 减, at least, dont 肥 somemore. 

yeah. must really start some dieting and exercising after i stop breastfeeding liaoo.

rayous will be starting full day at the child-care come 2jan. hopefully he can adapt well, learn more things, have more fun, and have more friends. 

raythorous will be reaching his 1yo in end april. must find a place to celebrate his bday. looking forward!

travel wise, taiwan is already in the plan. looking forward, but also very fearful. 2 kids and 2 folks. dont know if can handle or not. shall see. 

work wise, shall just continue to work hard. doubt there will be any major movements. 

yeap. 

so.. counting down to welcoming the new year.

RaYous HairCuT

yay!! 

rayous finally had his hair cut at the salon! 

yeah, dont know since when, he had refused to cut hair at salon. no choice, i had to resort to cutting for him myself. did the diy cut a couple of times liao. every time just trim short only. i had contemplated buying the shaver, but i dont know how to use, scare will ruin his head. so every time, just trim trim only.

today we happened to walk past this salon. then we asked him if he wants to play the car and cut hair. to our surprise, he agreed! so we hurriedly went into the shop. who knows, he said papa to cut first. and so, the papa set an example, to prove to him that it's gonna be fine.

so after the papa finished his hair cut, know what? mr rayous chicken-ed out! gave us excuses, say want to play the other car first, to go eat first etc. when we insisted him to cut first, he started to throw tantrum and said he doesnt wanna cut liao. no choice, we let another person go first, while we try to pacify him. at the end, he still insisted that he doesnt want to cut. 

wahh. both hubb and i were totally pissed. we waited for so long, and hubb purposely went to cut his hair.. in the end, this rayous chickened out! 

so we kind of chided him. but after that, we coaxed him again and this time round, he agreed to cut again. so we went back to the shop, all ready for the cut. who knows, the lady said we gonna queue all over again. really wtf. 

pissed, we went to baby spa to cut instead. 

and indeed, mr rayous was ok! 

actually not very ok la, on off he like wanna cry wanna cry like that. but at least he cooperated and completed the whole cut (with his tutu, carrying his bao bao, and watching video!) LOL. 

yay, so we were really happy that he finally overcame his fear and had his hair cut at a salon liao! proud of him!

so, before... hair long and no shape.. 

now, much shorter and neater. hahaa. look at that super siannnn expression. kekekeke. 

good, start the new year w a new hair cut.

as compared to rayous when he had his 1st xmas, it's more difficult taking pics of raythorous than rayous!

well, that's but of cuz. rayous was only about 5months old (and evident from the pics, he was still unable to sit up unsupported) when he had his 1st xmas, while raythorous is now a few more days to 8mths liao. 

so, he kept wanting to 'ciao' while taking the pics.. 

and to grab the presents.... for...... chewing!!!! grrrrrrr

yeah, rayous wasnt any easier.. also have to kept asking him to come and take pics and smile. haha

and when the 2 of them get tog...

xmas gathering at nich and cheryl's new place 

compared to last yr, we sure have more members this yr! 

yes, new members - emma - jc and weiling's gal. and of cuz, raythorous! they are only 3months apart i think. and yes, rayous and immanuel are much bigger than they were last yr. 

haha. 

life with and without children are really different. in the past when we gather, it's always playing card games.  just 3 couples, sit down, relax, chill, simple.. but now with the children, we r all bz looking after them! want to sit down properly and chat also difficult!

but never mind. wait till they are all big, then life will be easy again (hopefully!)
