Day 5 of our melbourne trip. also the day to check out from our hotel.
3rd day having the same breakfast. LOL. standard stuff, harshbrown la, sausage la, bacon la, mushrooms la, all sorts of bakery la....
then off to our v long journey to phillip island - approx a 2hr drive from melbourne.
stopped by the st patrick cathedral to take a look
trying v hard to take a wefie. kekeke.
niceeee
and then our journey continued.... till we stopped at this farm that we came across on the road. v random.
had lunch there.. western food again... their burgers are really huge la. and it was really fries overload.. fries fries and more friesssss!
and then played a while at the playground
and more pics taking
and then we also saw this milking system.. woooahh... impressive
ok, and then final lap to phillip island.
ok, this phillip island is famous for penguin watching. apparently, everyday at a specific time, the small penguins will somehow come back to the shore and back to their homes inside the island. and so, pple from all around the world, will gather to wait for this magical moment to happen.
and so, after travelling for so long, we were also there waiting in anticipation
was told that it will be super cold cuz it's at the seaside and evening/night time. so i was super prepared liao. brought along many warm clothings. LOL
and alas..... it really was........ NOT WORTH THE EFFORTS AND TIME!
we really waited for quite long leh. till both boys also fell asleep liao. then the sky turned dark liao and there werent very strong lights. so, it was quite dark and can barely see the penguins lor. did see them coming back and cheonging across the beach, but not very clear. also no photo-takings allowed etc.
so, really not worth it, given that we took such trouble to come all the way here.
nah, only managed to take this pic, after the small penguin was safe back in his home. keke
after that was checking in to our apartment. abit of a hiccup here, cuz it was super late already and the place that the GPS brought us to, was a resort and the reception was already closed. called the after-office-hour number and a lady came, who told us that the apartment we booked is not under their resort care. diaoooooo....
she told me to check my email and to contact the apartment owner directly. lucky in my email, there indeed were instructions on how to get to my apartment. woah. cant imagine what to do if there are no smart phones around!
and our apartment was all the way inside the resort lo. late at night and all the way inside. quite scary really. lucky we still managed to find and checked in successfully. apparently the owner was already waiting for us there. she gave us some briefings and left. next time really dont book this kind of ulu apartment. but then again, this is not the mainland but some small island, also hard to find decent hotels.
ok anyways, stay tune for day 6.
