BE

the firedrill was activated on friday, but surprisely, we did not take part at all. everyone continued doing wad they were doing and no one gave a hoot abt the fire drill. so best. so if it's real fire, we'll all become roasted pigs huh.

anyway participated in my new divison's BE activity yesterday. BE = Be Engaged, a programme initiated by the bank to bring the staff closer together. Each year, we have to do this survey that will track our satisfaction level as a staff with the bank. and this BE is something that all divisions will have to carry out so that staff can bond together and increase the scoring of the survey.

anyway, BE at CMD wasnt such large scale, probably due to the small size of the division. but here at group credit, we had treasure hunt this year. basically decipher the clues, find the locations, ans one question at each location, identify the objects that we are asked to look for and take a pic with all members in.

started at 930 at uob main plaza.. each of us were given a collectible netsflashpay card with $10 stored value. damn cool card, got money also cannot buy. we only took mrt 2x, so at the end of the game, the card still has about $7 value for us to bring home.

4 areas to cover, 6 locations to go - bugis, bras basah, chinatown and the end meeting point was at hortpark.

1st destination was this yellow building. seriously, thru this game, i realised how not often do i observe the things around me.. had a hard time looking for this little ulu yellow building...

2nd destination was at laselle school. luckily for us, one of the members knew this place and brought us here. if not, we could have never found this place given the sucky clues..

3rd destination - rendevouz hotel....

4th destination - museum

5th destination - chinatown. i contributed the most here!! one look at the clue and i knew exactly where it is! kekekekeke... that's how often i go to chinatown. lol

last destination - hortpark

seriously, i think we performed v well. the meeting time was at 2pm, but by abt 12+, we already were back to the meeting place with all clues deciphered. but amazingly, another group beat us to it and were already there when we reached.

so, in the end, we came in 2nd. 1st prize was $1k shopping vouchers. and 2nd prize was $800 vouchers. divided up, each got $100. wahahahaha. not too bad, rite??? and with the door gift which was a $20 ntuc vouchers, plus the flashpay card, all on all, my gain was $127.  

hahahahahaa.... so worth my participation!!! so my time wasnt exactly wasted afterall :) and though it was stated that it will end at 5pm, it in fact ended at 2+. lol!

and i seldom wake up early during wkends. this event made me woke up real early and i realise the day is very long when u wake up early. i should really make it a point to wake up early during wkends so tt my wkends will be longer. if not, by the time i wake up, half the day has already gone and wkends will 4ever be sooo short. get the theory?

and y the hell am i feeling guilty about not going back to clear my work on sunday? ya, i have tons of things to do at work and had initally plan to go back tdy. but i also have personal things to do, so y shld i sacrifice my personal stuff for work when it's a wkend and it's OFFICIALLY my off days????

so y am i feeling so uneasy abt not going back? well, tt's cux i know tmr will sux big time. i better go work damn early tmr and hopefully can clear wadever are supposed to be cleared. but then again, my pay is for monday-friday, 9 to 630. if i will nt be paid more, WHY SHOULD I DO ALL THESE NONSENSE?????

one of the advantages in moving to tanjong pager is the opportunity to meet up with long lost frens for lunch. 1 is shirley, another is ms kuah xiuwen. she's my uni mate and think we havent seen each other since grad. she's recently moved to tanjong pagar too. great to meet up again :)

hopefully can meet up more and more long time no see frens!!!!!

nite time was ktv with ex-colleagues. went to this ktv opposite bugis junction. the name is top1 or something like tt. the sound system is good, and there are many effects to play with. there's a small stage, then there's spotlight, and there's this effect whereby u can emit smoke as if u are in a real concert like that!

the whole room was sooo smoky when the guys kept on pressing the button to emit smoke.

i think the drinks are free flow and there's a bento set for dinner. i dont know how much was the exact bill, but i paid $30. duration about 4hrs. quite worth it for a friday nite ktv with dinner inclusive.

TA TA TA... it's the long awaited friday!!!! i cant tell u how happy im for friday to arrive, juz like i cant express how unhappy im whenever monday comes. it's ironic when time is passing so fast, yet friday always seem so slow to arrive.

actually, i think, wed and thurs are the worst days in a wk. mon and tues still can tahan, cuz they are right after the wkend break. but wed and thurs are 2 days after 2 working days and for wed, it's 2 working days b4 wkend comes. get wad i mean?

majority of the pple loves to take leaves on friday or monday so as to make it a long wkend. but for me, i love to take leaves in mid-wk. wad can be better than having a break after working for 2days straight in a row?

amazingly for me, i only took 4.5 days leave this yr so far. i din realise that until i went in to check my leave summary during work today. apparently, i have to clear a minimum of 11.5 days this year. and if tt happens, i will bring forward the max of 14days to next yr. and tt means, i will have 38days leave next year!!!! winz.

actually, the plan was not to take any leave or mc for the 1st 3mths at my new place. come aug, will be the 3rd mth. so i can start to take leave liao. but take leave also v sian. cuz have to ensure tt things are done up nicely for pple to cover me when im away. ggrrrrr.. dead troublesome!

and the files at work are piling up. the pile will soon cover my head when i sit down, literally and no kidding. and sad to say, i will have to go back this sun to clear them, if not, it will be a hazard if the pile of files collapses and hit me. sounds funny, but seriously, it's not. :(

meeting ex-colleagues for ktv tmr. at least something to help me bear thru the friday work. will also be meeting my long-time-no-meet uni fren for lunch tmr. :)

time is passing mercilessly fast. i still tot it was the beginning of the month when i suddenly realised that it is actually mid-month already.

wad can i do to make time pass slower?

maybe i shld just quit my job and stay at home.

time will only be slow when u have nothing to do.

but.. that is... if i have the luxury to do so.

till then, i will continue to slog and be depressed.

MacAu DaY II

been ranting too much on work. time to blog abt happier stuff. travel!

1st day, as mentioned, was @ zhuhai. for the whole of 2nd day, we were in HK. took the early ferry and the ride frm macau to hk took an hr. the ride to and back is abt sgd70. alternatively, u can also travel by helicopter which will take a mere 10+ mins. but it will cost like sgd400, if i remb correctly. madness rite?

much as i wished to travel on a helicopter, we took the ferry instead -.-

~ hubb and his fatty roast duck leg. it was so filling that he almost did not feel any hunger for the rest of the day. cant imagine the amt of calories in there... ~

the 1st place we went was causeway bay. i tell u, like sg, hk is flooded with foreign workers! the streets were all filipinoes and non-chinese! i did not feel like i was in hk at all. sooooo scary. we left for another destination shortly.

actually, being the 3rd time to hk, there's really no location that is a 'must-go-for-a-visitor' already. those 'must go' have already been visited the 1st and 2nd time. and, we only have a day. cant exactly travel too far either. so in fact, tis time round, it was quite boring in hk. we literally roam on the streets.

~ me and my piece of smelly tofu. lau pat sat is selling also. can go there eat if u havent tried b4. the one at lau pat sat really stinks!~

and, tt day, i wore the pair of boots tt i bought in zhuhai. tt was a seriously wrong decision becuz my feet hurt like mad for the whole day. they hurt soo much tt i dreaded walking. and on a few occasions, i'd got no choice but to remove them and let my feet rest on the flat ground. it was super unglam, but i seriously got no choice. the pain was jus too much to bear. it was plain terrible. that probably contributed a fair bit to the 'not-so-fun' experience this time.

and i think, hk is really over-populated. there are soo many pple everywhere. i think hk is abt the size of sg, but their population is double ours. can u imagine? im not exaggerating, but everywhere are human beings. tons and tons and tons of pple.. stunned..

went shopped at this argly centre in mongkok. somewad like our far east plaza. many many many small shops selling clothings and accessories. v cheap, but cannot try. if u love those korean/jap style, u shld visit there. but be prepared to sqz sqz sqz with the pple in there. at ur own risk!

also, we literally fell asleep while resting at the train station. think really too tired liao. i think we sat more than half an hr in the station. i was kidda worried tt the staff mite notice us sitting there and not moving and come question us. hahahah.

nite time was to this avenue of star. it's a must-go if u visit hk.

both hubb and me agree that the pics we took on our own are better than the paid pics tt were taken by the supposed professional photographers. credits to my camera!

lastly, wanted to blog at the train station. but dont knw y, the network wasnt working. so cant blog.

seriously this time round, i find the pple quite nasty and rude. i had enjoyed the 1st and 2nd visit, but this time round, not really leh. maybe i sian liao. or maybe becuz my feet hurt too much. or becuz too tired. or becux we only had a day. blah blah..

but i will still want to go whenever there's a chance. was watching this hk serial and somehow, the desire to go there came back again. ahhahhaaah

I think july is the month where majority of my frens have their bdaes in. shimin, jul, crystal, keegan, bro in law and shirley koh.

gave her a lunch treat this afternn. look how happy she is??? kekekekek

this cake she's holding from coffee club is superb. soo creamy and thick choco! i like!!! but the main courses at coffee club really cannot make it.

and shirley, i do expect a reciprocate hor. know wad to do 2mths down the road k. lol ~~~~

for the past wk i've been lunching out. hopefully it can be maintained tt way. but work is still as sian as ever. y cant tmr be friday?? can some1 teach me how to enjoy my work? 

i have chocolates and sweets on my table. i've got a cutie cushion. i've placed little plush on the tables to make my work area cuter and hopefully make myself happier. i've got 2 jackets and a shawl to keep myself warm. i've done everything i could to make my work area a better place to work in. but how come, it is still sucky leh????

i think a pay increment is wad i really need and the only thing that can make me feel more balance.

but an increment, if any, willl only happen in march next yr.

will i be able to maintain my sanity till then???

after that was dessert time @ the dessert shop across the street. recommended by crystal and she nicely treated us to it. kekekeke..

been hooked on to those stuff toy arcade games these days and these arcade shops are sooo popular now! the 1st time i played was at suntec. then now we wil usually play at plaza sing. ytd, went tiong bahru plaza and there's a newly opened one!!

some of the stuff that we won. i also cannot remb how much money was dumped in liao. but it's really quite addictive. ultimately, it's not the plush tt we r aiming, rather it's the process that is fun and the satisfaction tt we get when the aim of winning is attained.

ya, it's a complete waste of money and i feel v gulity abt it too. but... o well.. how often can u find something tt u enjoy doing? anyway, as much as i know myself, i will get sian of it very soon. so juz lemme play when i still enjoy bahhh.. hehehe

feel like dying my hair.. but worry if my hair can take it or not. previously my hair was half dyed, half black. took me a long time b4 the dyed part are cut away and the hair color is more or less sync now. and if i go dye it now, when the hair grows, wont i be back to square 1 again?? and the amt of damage to my already quite bad-conditioned hair? and have to sit for hours in the salon with nothing to do??? mmmmmmmmmm
