BanGkoK DaY 6 - 15 JuNe 2023

Day 6 of our bkk trip!

Bf, yummx

毫不吝啬... Such big pieces of mangoes!

And the attractions for this day, were also unplanned for! We only booked the tour during bf. Hahha!

To Damnoen Saduak Floating Market and Maeklong Railway Market!

Super far journey... 2hrs car ride!!!!

Finally reached!

Sailed through the river with shops selling all sorts of souvenirs, that basically can also be found at the common markets or shops.

And the prices are mad high! Bargaining is a MUST here. Basically the seller will tell u the price, and when u say no, they will pass u the calculator to reoffer them. Then both can haggle until u come to a satisfactory price.

But even after bargaining, the price is still very high. To put things in perspective, a fan was offered to us at THB650. After bargaining, we got it at THB250. But the exact same thing..... was only THB80 at the railway market!!!!!!

So, kind of unfortunate that we went to floating market first. Kenna dock big!

Buying food from boat vendors.. And eating on the boat. What an experience!

A quick visit to a monastery

And continue the journey. To be fair, i do like this experience alot. Though weather was hot, there was breeze as the boat sailed, so not all that hot. Quite 舒服 actually.

And then, after back in sg, i got to knoe thru the comments in TripAdvisor that actually we had been scammed. Ok la, maybe 'scam' is too strong a word. Should be 'cheated' ba.

Apparently, the pier that the taxi dropped us, is not the real entrance to the floating marketing. That pier will charge super high fee as compared to the real entrance. And the taxi drivers are in cahoots with the tickets sellers at the pier.

Duhhhhhh..... To think that we hired the driver through a legitimate (or so we tot) company.... Was already quite surprised why is it not a private hire car that came picked us, but a taxi. Mmmmmm.

***updates: hubb sort of feedbacked this to the company. Apparently, the high fee charged was because we got a motor boat. The one at the actual entrance are all paddle boats and the tour duration is also much shorter. That's y our fee was much higher.....O well.

Next was to the railway market!

Saw this place on tv before. Happy to finally get to visit!

Makan time! Errr. Tomyum noodle, but not that yummy leh

We reached about 3.30pm... But as we ate in the restaurant, many of the shops start packing up liao.

By the time we finished makan, many shops already closed.

Lucky still managed to buy some stuff from the remaining shops. Things r very cheap here! Happy shopping =)

A foresaken child. Lol

And the hi light - the train arriving! Last train for the day liao, at 5.40pm.

Ok la, b4 the train is arriving, the stalls start packing liao. Then police will be out to clear the tracks liao. Not as if super last min then they pack and keep.

But still quite dangerous la i feel...

After that, back to hotel to put down the barangs before dinner at the night market nearby.

到地, and low price. The rice, noodle items generally THB50 to THB80.

I honestly dont mind retiring in bkk

And more bbq street food!

Yea, very fruitful day with many new experiences!

Happy!
