it's hot.. hot.. and HOT these days...

mr irritating was on mc last thurs and friday. and then he's on mc today. and he will be on mc tmr and wed. thereafter, he will be on leave on thurs and friday.

woah. 1.5 wks not in office.

apparently, he's down with some illness (he wants to keep it secret and so boss did not reveal) that if cannot be treated by medication, he'll have to go to a specialist. o well, not as if it's the 1st time that he's visiting a specialist. that time he also had prob with his neck and leg. and now, somewhere else.

and the amazing thing is, when boss asked him to cancel his leave on thurs and friday and to come back to work, he said he'd already booked a tour.

so serious till mc 5 days (not counting wkend), yet still can go on a trip.

all boss can say is that he's covered by mc, and she can do nothing about that. she said she'd spoken to him a few times already and that the big bosses are aware of his attitude and it's not going to be good for him when it comes to appraisal and promo period.

but every month, he's still getting his pay, right?!

really give up.

what have i done to deserve such an irresponsible colleague??????

i'll be going hk and macau this sunday with hubb, mum and dad! believe it or not, this trip was booked in nov last year. kekeke. super way in advance huh.

though been to hk b4, mum kept complaning that there are so many places in hk that she did not visit. true, cuz that time she went, it was only a 3days trip and we only went to a few places.

hence this time, 7days for her to really visit HK and macau.

airfare + hotel is about $600+/pax. plus the money for food/transport/entrance fee/spendings etc, i speculate it'll be abt $1.6k/pax.

on hindsight, it's really kind of bo hua and silly to go HK, cuz with that money, we could have visited shanghai or even korea.. at least it's a new place that we all havent been before.. o well.

in anycase, juz pray for me that there will be no shit for the remaining 4 working days.

So looking forward :)

GE 2011

stayed up all night ytd to catch the 1st hand results of the 2011 GE.

1) sincerely salute and thank the residents of hougang and aljunied, for successfully bringing in more alternative voices

2) salute mr low t.k. he has shown me what a real leader is like - pple follow where u go, and continued to support where u left.

3) sorry for mr chiam s.t. but then, it might not be a bad thing for him to take a back seat and have some well-deserved rest.

4) glad for mr szeto. y.b. sorry to say, but to me, he's always a suicide pilot put up against mr chiam in the vie for potong pasir. after 2 failed attempts, he finally succeeded. 2 failed attempts = 10 good years. how many 10yrs are there in one's lifetime? perseverance do payoff.

5yrs before the next GE. Half a decade, not a long period, neither is it a short one. 5 yrs later, i'll be 31yrs old. what will i be like then? happily married? children? house? career?

1 YeaR and 1 Day

today marks the exact 1yr and 1day that i've been with the current dept.

yea. time flies huh.

despite all the complaining, im still there.

to tell the truth, after 1 whole year, the thought of leaving never did leave my mind.

i've been thinking and thinking and thinking... but juz no courage to take that move... yet.

there's nothing good here, except for the fact that i no longer have to come into contact with customers. period.

but if i leave now, wouldnt that be very stupid of me? i've survived, or rather, im still riding through the toughest period where we are really short-handed. but come july, when one comes back from maternity, life will be a breeze then? so y should i quit now that the 'breeze' time is coming?

and, there will be a major re-shuffling in july. y should i leave now and not wait and see if i can benefit in any way from the re-shuffling?

visited universal studio this easter. it's really a fun fun place!!

all rides that we took are fun. even the seemingly harmless rides are exciting.

im not kidding, but the roller coaster behind us is the scariest ride i ever had. there'r actually 2 different rollar coasters running at the same time each time. the scarier one will be the red one. it's sooo scary that i literally teared after the ride. it's either my fear threshold is lower due to the lower age, or the ride is really superrrr scary. probably also a wrong choice that it was one of the first rides that we went on.

one thing to be prepared of... is to QUEUE. it's really queue queue queue and queue. queue time varies from 30mins to 120mins. yes!! 2hrs queue juz for that 1min ride!!! super exaggerating one!! and the day we went was a superrr hot day.... real jialek.

our lunch. $10.50 per plate. woah.

my super long water botter :) $14.50. each refill is $2. juz a plastic bottle. i bet the cost price is at most $1. do bring ur own water supply if u are visiting. mineral water will cost $2 and bottled drinks are $3. but one good thing is there are many water cooler in there. so long u have a bottle, u are quite safe.

that is a real creature that the crew was holding on to!!!

that day we went in was extended opening hour. so we have more time to explore around. fireworks came on at 9. spectacular. and towards night time, the q became much much shorter. many of the popular rides only need 5-10mins wait!! lucky for us! if known earlier, i wouldnt even spend my time queuing in the day when it was sooo sooo hot!!!

pics that we bought back. $18 each. i tot the packaging is really nice and we were nicely captured, so though bit ex, we still bought.

all in all, it's highly recommended to give USS a visit. i've heard of people who bought the year-pass and i tot it was silly. but after visiting, i think it's worth it!! the rides are really good, the shows are also good, the staff are friendly, the place is clean, it's very orderly and a great experience.

and in there, i do feel proud of singapore. such a small place, yet able to have such a good quality amusement park. i can imagine a group of tourists - the young can go to the park, the old can go to the casinoes, while the tais tais can go to the shopping centres. there's really a place for everyone. real cool.
