Bye Bye 2024!!

Last day of 2024!!

Wahoooooo!

Sort of an impromptu visit to JB! 

Went midvalley southkey, cuz there's a toysrus there, and hubb wanna utilise a rm50 voucher. Duh. 

And after that, went KSL for haircut. Hahahaha. 

Yeah, surprisingly not much jam, both in and out of the custom. 

Half hour more and will be 2025 liao. 

Counting down.

Oh yeah. 

Last 2nd day of 2024 liao! 

Let me blog abt this, likely the most eventful event of this yr liao. Haha. 

Went for cysts and fibroid removal! 

It all started when I 屁股痒, topped up money to do extra health checks, one of which is the ovarian cancer check. 

Indicator came back higher than normal (but not alarmingly high), so doc recommended me to do more detailed checks.

Since not alarmingly high and no other symptoms, I sorta heck it la. 

But after that, had chat with a collegeue, and she was saying how ovarian cancer is a silent killer etc... 

So... I kind of scared dao, and decided to give my dear old gynae a visit. 

And yes, scanned n saw the cysts and fibroids. When I gave birth to raythorous, I was cleared. Somehow in these 7yrs, they grew, and grew to quite a big size. 

So gynae told me must remove. That was in Aug. 

But i was still procrastinating.... And was hoping to tu till after cny... Lol. 

And really don't know was it 心理作用, my abdominal seemed to start hurting.. So when I followed up with him in Nov, he told me better dont tu liao, and to do it ASAP. 

And the op has to be done 5days b4 or 5days after menses. So it really wasn't easy to fix a day.. 

乔来乔去, finally settled on 14dec, after the vacations. Then still got more hiccups after that, like having slight fever, and signs of next menses coming.. But heng, in the end, 顺利done on 14dec.  haha.

In the temp ward waiting for pre op prep like checking of vitals, clearing of poop, changing to gown etc... And from here, will be wheeled via bed to another waiting area. 

When the nurse wheeled the bed with me laying on it, what I saw from my angle, were just like what drama showed. Could see the face of the nurse who was wheeling the bed, and the lights passing above me. 

Passed thru the babies room, saw the xmas tree and decor, 我忍不住哭了. 

Mama drama.

 不是怕，只是很难过为什么不可以好好的..... 也担心术后会不会醒不过来... Drama again. 

Finally reached the waiting area. And the nurse told me try not to cry, in case nose blocked and complicate the surgery. Duh. 

Then I sat up on the bed, instead of laying down. Somehow felt more secure sitting up. Lol. In btw many nurses came to check on me. 

Then finally I was wheeled to the outside of the operating theatre. And it was there that I saw my surgeon - Dr Wong Wai Loong - for the first time. Ya, my gynae is not my surgeon, cuz such op is not his speciality. So he recommended Dr Wong to help me instead. And till now, i only saw half of Dr Wong's face, cuz he wore a mask. But from websites, he looked like an asian Elon Musk. Hahahaha. 

And then, finally, to the operating theatre. 

还真的长得和戏里一样. 

Dr Wong was there. My gynae Dr Lim was there. And then came the anaesthesia doc. 

And b4 I knew, I KO liao. The last timing i saw was close to 1.30pm, which was the scheduled time. 真准时! 

I honestly tot I would wake up nicely in the ward when the GA eventually wore off. But no leh. St after the op, the anaesthesia doc woke me up liao. Still in the operating theatre. Ha. 

When woke up, 思路是清晰的, 也听得到. But there was a brief mmt of breathing difficulty, like I couldn't breath, and i couldn't communicate to them that I couldn't breath. The feeling was so scary la. Took a while, b4 i could breath properly again. Then gynae was there assuring me that everything went well. 

Then 我就被人搬来搬去.. And finally back to the ward. Time was around 4.30pm liao. 

Yeah. Tired for the rest of the day. B4 the op, I was still naive enough to think that I would be ok by 9pm and could eat dinner and watch the sheng siong show. 

But no, no mood for anything. 

Did not get to sleep well the whole night also. Every hr also got pple coming in to check. Check pressure la, give meds la, change pad la, give injection la... Etc etc.... And the drip machine and leg compressor machine kept having sound.... Cannot sleep well at all.

After op, no food.

Next day, also not much appetite, but could start walking. Drip and urine bag, all removed. Yay! Having that needle poked at the hand was really irritating... So yay! 

2nd night also did not sleep well. 睡不着... So i really did feel 几伤... 吃不好, 睡不好的. And it was then that I decided to order the post surgery meals to 好好补一下.. 

And finally discharged after 2nights stay. 

First wk was still quite bad. Can only walk slowly and easily tired. Now 2wks down, 好很多, though still easily tired and sian. Haha. Half of the given hospitalisation leave passed liao. Siann. Why so fast.... 

Also good that now is the sch hols period. I can rest in peace, need not worry abt the boys' school stuff. Phew.

And honestly, when one is unwell, 真的很容易depress. 我的算是很小case, and i had ample time for 心里准备, yet, 我还是会感到难过... Like why......

So, I really cannot imagine if it was a major or sudden illness...

Ok, choi choi choi.

Even our luggages also kenna isolation... Kenna left in one corner, away from all the rest..

Duhhhhh 

And it was really chaotic at the cruise centre. Soooo many pple..... Had quite a hard time b4 we finally managed to grab a ride home. 

Overall not too bad la. Except for the last 2days when hubb and the boys fell sick. Well, at least we get to visit Penang and Phuket. 

Did not managed to do the many activities onboard, but did not matter la, since last round we already did on Spectrum of the Seas. 

This cruise v similar to Spectrum. In fact, Spectrum has more facilities, I feel. 

In fact, so far, the Royal Carribean cruises really 大同小异. 

First 1 or 2x very refreshing, but go a few more times, actually quite sian liao. 

Yup. Maybe will try dream cruises next. Never been to one before. 

Yay. 

Another nua day at home. 

几好

Tried lifting some light weights and now tummy feels weird.

心理作用?

Or really need more time to recover?

Mmmmmmmmm. 

 A fruitful day! 

Went for post op consultation. Glad some little man was willing to accompany me. Haha

Wow. 一转眼，就十年了! 

Always reassuring, always reliable. 

Had lunch after that, at velocity 

Then hubb and Raythorous joined us, and we went for our dental appmts.

After that went visit the folks and had dinner w them. 

B4 going to sis's hse to collect my lootsl

Asked her to help me buy when she went Spain for holiday. 

2 bags and 1 wallet, and a total savings of S$2.4K!

Wahoooooo!

Nuaaaaa at home whole day with the 2 boys.

Woohooo.

Why is time passing so so fast?

 Went out awhile to settle FD stuff.

Just like last yr!

Last yr also settled FD stuff before meeting bnf peeps for Xmas xchange. 

Just now also supposed to meet them for Xmas xchange de, but alas, I think i really am not in such a good shape to go out for that long and that far. 

Haha. 

Ok.

真的. 

麻醉师

This post is specially dedicated to 麻醉师s.

Well, I appreciate and applaud all the doctors out there. They fully fully deserve our respect. 

But out of the so many medical disciplines, i think 麻醉师really earns the best deal.

Their job is the - 

'most important' -  majority of the ops cannot commence without them

'shortest' - maybe at most 15mins? After that just stay around (if they do stay around, I don't know), eat popcorn, watch show, and pray no big hoo haa happens

'cleanest' - no need to cut open anyone, no need see blood, kio this, kio that 

'most profitable' - a good $3.5K just for that less than 15mins encounter with me. 

Can u imagine how much a 麻醉师can earn? 

Do the maths! 

这真的是何等的天赋啊! 

And my op this time, the most assuring guy around, was really my anesthesiologist.

I honestly think he was the same Dr who administered my epidural yrs back when I gave birth. 

Yeah. 

He came in, 一边做他的工，一边chit chatted w me. 

And then told me I will fall asleep in 5mins....3mins....1min......

And i honestly tot it will be a very gradual kind of 'falling asleep'.. U know, that kind that u slowly black out..... 

But no leh. I just blacked out. I did not even know when I blacked out. 

The next mmt, was hearing him tapping me hardly on my shoulder and telling me to wake up, and that all is done. 

Woah. 

Amazing. 

Surreal. 

What happened? 

真的很吓人. 

如果是死，就真的是死了都不知道. 

Really have to give it to all these doctors.

真的是老天给他们的使命.

厉害!

还真的可以躺了一整天....

Well, this period 就是让我躺的，不是吗？

Happy lunch cum dinner. 

Prolly the most basic thing that I can do for myself le - order post surgery meals to 补一下.

Actually it did not occur to me de, till a colleague told me about it. Googled, and this yue zi le popped up and 对症下药. Most only cater for confinement food, but this one can also cater post surgery food wor. 

I was still contemplating to order or not, until after surgery, 还真的觉得有伤到，so 赶快下单. 

Not bad leh. Order before certain timing and can start immediately the next day. 

1 meal per day for 28days. Portion quite big, not possible to finish in 1 meal. So can become 2 meals.

Haha.

Everyday got different menu. 

几好.

Not cheap, but I guess, 有些钱是不能省的.

免得以后手尾多.
