today is the last day of 2009.

it's just soooo fast!!

per usual practice, it's reflection time!

2009 has been a very fast year. a few accomplishments as follow:

*

1) attainment of driving license (finally!)

2) 1st branded bag

3) went on cruise virgo

4) travelled to China Beijing with folks

5) travelled to JB and KL (if u consider that travelling)

6) new members in the family

7) took up regular jogging sessions

*

it hasnt been too bad huh!

*

for 2010, there's basically only one resolution ie. SAVE MONEY!

*

i dont forsee going anywhere far next year. most prob will juz go on a short trip and macau should be the choice. actually next on my list are shanghai, hokkaido and perhaps korea. but i dont suppose i will go next year. guess will wait till the year after next. yep. kiv.

*

also hope i can maintain my jogging spirit. and of cuz, good increment and good bonuses..

alrite, abt 3.5 more hours and we'll wave goodbye to 2009.

im back back back ~

finally back to this warm and green little red dot.

it was super-duper cold in china but it did not snow.

*

overall the trip was great, except for the fact that hubb, dad and me kind-of kenna diarrhoea and hubb had it soo bad that he had to go hospital for consultation and we missed a day of itin after the decision to stay in hotel to rest.

*

and now mum is down with 38.9d fever. lucky we r back in town already.

*

meals were good and we enjoyed for the 1st 2days. but when every meals were more or less the same for the next 6days, i got real sick of it and it was the first time that i'd missed sg food soooo much when im out of town. serious. out of the 4 of us, i think mum was the only one who still has appetite towards the end. our appetite became real bad towards the 3rd day (largely due to the diarrhoea, i supposed), that i can only eat a few pieces of chicken for tt whole meal. same goes for dad and hubb. sooo much food wasted and i felt so bad.

*

we had a great tour guide and the rest of the tour mates were okay too. i'd enjoyed though it was super cold, cuz i know there's no way to experience such weather conditions in sg. but touring in winter time is really troublesome cuz u have to wear alot when u are outdoors but remove again when u are indoors if not, it'll be easy to catch a cold and with the heaters, it's too warm to wear soo much indoors. and walking outdoors during winter time is really cold cold cold... esp when the wind blows... the body and the legs are ok (all thanks to the thermal wear, down jack and wollen pants!). it was the head, face, hands and feets that were cold. must really really gear up. no joke!!

also, taking pics and videos are a challenge too. cuz with the gloves on, it's difficult to feel. so when i want to take pics or videos, i'll have to remove the gloves for higher touch sensitivity but by doing so, im freezing my hands. it really wasnt easy.

*

but in summary, though there are many inconveniences when travelling in winter time, i'd enjoy. and ... im starting to miss it already. why must i come back???!!! haiii... and now.. the worst part of travelling ---- unpacking and laundry. urgh!

hubb's preparing for exam and i spent sat out with mum shopping. long time since we spent such long hours shopping together. went out at abt 4pm+ and back only at 11pm+. hahah. managed to buy a dress (which mum thinks i should save for CNY) and an evening bag for bro's wedding dinner. :)

3D MoviE

went watch xmas carol yesterday. 3d movie... mm.. 1st time i watched 3d movie in cinema was back in jc. some hk chinese horror movie. but at tt time, it wasnt 3d throughout. u'll only need to put on the 3d specs when there's a signal on the top left corner indicating tt the 3d effects are coming. but for this movie, it's 3d throughout and the effect is not bad. but the spec abit uncomfy and made me a little dizzy...

wah lao, im so god damn pissed with hong thai travel tt i dropped an email to 'complain' them! so many bloody hotlines available on their website, but NONE can reach someone! so f***king silly! tried calling at diff timings and diff days but to no avail! are they going to stomach my deposit and collapse??!!! wtf!

and....the balance payment cannot be paid by credit cards! such a big and established travel agency yet not accepting credit card payment??? this is sooo omg!

alrite, actually it was apparaently made known to the consumers. the deposit was paid by card when i signed at the natas fare and it was printed in bold red caps on the invoice that the balance can only be paid by cash, nets, or chq. but somehow, i totally missed that line out, until i went to chk the invoice recently. i was told by my colleague that she had paid for everything with card during the fare cuz she knows HT doesnt accept card pymt for balance paymt. i did not really take her words until i saw the invoice myself.

the agency which i went with for cruise was a small agency and the cruise was only 1k+ and they also accepted credit card payment. okok, rather, they'd wanted me to pay for the admin fee, but after i expressed my dissatisfaction, they agree to absorb the cost and let me pay by card. so, if a small agency can absorb the cost, y cant they??

maybe i shld make a big hoo-haa and tell them i got no cash, no nets, no money in my a/c and only has credit cards and i have no way to pay them except with cards? maybe then they can let me pay by card and i can still earn my card points???

ThursDay

took leave and took mum to take the h1n1 jab tdy. one load off my mind.

though i woke up as early, or in fact, earlier than days tt i have to work, like wad my colleague said, it's different. indeed it is. though i did not wake up as late as i planned to, waking up early on working days is somewhat different from waking up early on non-working days.

i love taking leaves in mid-week, either wed or thurs. preferably thurs, cux u'll juz have to work one more day on fri (and TGIF!) and it'll be wkend again!

*

and yes, november did go the way i want it to be ie. 4 working days per week! weeeezz :)

but, i have also OT on most of the working days.

*

'it's appraisal time, and it's good to stay more during this period. afterall it's so-and-so who'll be approving and signing all the appraisals......' someone told me.

anyway, it's good to earn xtra cash as well. and since i only need to work 4 days, OT-ing on all 4 days is peanuts.

and tt means we will only have 2 more years left b4 we'll all leave the surface of the earth, if u believe in 2012. and yep, the movie 2012 is not too bad. though exaggerating and a little far-fetched in terms of how the protagonists can survive despite all tt calamities, the graphics are real and engaging. can watch.

actually im very worried cuz the weather there will be extremely cold... been looking through the winter wear and down jacket alone will cost >$180. plus hats + scarves + gloves + thermal wear + pants................ and also the jabs for the folks......

The PoWer Of MoneY

i simply love slacking at home!! :)

up till this point of my life now, i can firmly say that there are 2 things which i think/feel can be very easily done, but which in fact are damnn tough.

*

the first one will be rock-climbing. seeing others climb is like sooo simple - step on the stones, grab another stone and slowly climb up. effortlessly, isint it? but i can tell u, i believe rock climbing is something which i will never accomplish in my life.

*

i've tried it once during one of those camps in JC and i have never attempted again. it's vvvvv tough. i remembered staying in tt same positon, comtemplating my next move, but despite my brain telling me to move on, my body juz could not. it takes great effort to move ur whole body upwards juz by using ur arm strength and i juz cant do it. if u are a gal and u can do it, then i sincerely salute you.

another thing which i think is very easy, but in fact is very tough will be PAINTING!

yes. painting is very very tough!

*

i always think painting is very easy... and i always volunteer myself when mum wants to paint the house.. until one year, when i was made to paint the roof... i can tell u.. i swear to myself i will never volunteer to paint again.

*

the experience is horrible. ur neck will ache becuz u have to constantly look upwards. ur arms will be in pain becuz they r constantly in a raise-up position and moving. and not to mention the paint dripping all over ur face and body!

*

painting is something that really involves commitment. if ur not ready to paint, then dont start at all! cuz once u start, the part which u have started painting will become white, while the rest will still be yellow. and as a result, there will be no end until everything is painted equally white. get wad i mean?

*

and so, when mum said she wants the house to be painted this year, i readily told her to pls hire pple to do it cuz i WILL NOT do it for her.

*

and so.. on 10/10/09... we hired pple to paint the whole hse for us..

went thru tremedous 'spring cleaning' b4 the painting day. but despite soo.. there are still many barangs barangs which remained..

and while the painting took place inside, we were made to sit outside from 9am to 5pm......

i cant say it's alot of fun sitting outside... but i cant be in a worse off position than having to paint myself.

that sets me thinking again.. how nice it is to have money..

soo many problems can be solved with money. so much agony and pain and trouble and hassle can be spared with money. money can really make the world turns...

if not for the money paid, i will be the one inside, having to move all the furnitures, lay the newspaper on the floor and over the furnitures/appliances, breath the paint smell, ache and sweat and have paint all over me, and shift the furnitures back to their original positions when done......

*

how would i stil have the luxury to juz sit down outside, enjoy the breeze and watch the world goes by???

*

seee???? seee????? money money money!!!!!!! never under-estimate the power of money and how much it can do. it's formidable!*

it's a new month again!!

and it's the 2nd last month of the year le.

im quite happy actually, cuz towards the end of the year, atmosphere will be more relax. like i mentioned previously, i've already planned my leave in such a way tt i'll only need to work 4 days per wk. but apparently tt did not happen for the last wk of oct, and in fact, i'd OT for all 5days last wk. mgmt's email was 'ur effort will be appreciated and recognised'... tell me how then can i not OT????

but come Nov, i will not disappoint myself again. im gonna take 1 day off per wk for each wk of nov. dec will be busy, for there r bro's wedding and the beijing trip. by the time i rtn from the beijing trip, in less than a wk's time, will be 2010 le.

hmmmm.... i simply love year-ends. soo many things to look forward to.

but of cuz.. it also meant that i'll be one year older......

it's funny how out of 6 of us, 3 of us are sept babies and 2 are oct babies. anthony is the odd one out. lol ~ but also all thanks to him for constantly organising (or directing pple to organise!) meet-ups, if not, i think we wont meet up tt often too.

anyway, this meet-up was at raffles city thai express and the purpose was to celebrate the oct babies'- ah yan and jas - bday.

took morning half day leave today. have planned my leave in such a way that for the rest of the year, there should only be 1 or 2 wks whereby i will have to wake up early on all 5 wkdays. lol. im a darn slacker!

attended colleague's ROM on 10/10/09. location was at labrador park. nice and romantic ambience but no shelter except for the glass house. so better pray for fine weather if holding functions there.

after food was the 'flowers throwing' session. and believe it or not, i managed to hop the flowers even though i was already standing furthest away. actually it did not exactly land on me.. rather, it landed on the floor but since i was the nearest, i became the owner of the flowers.
