End oF CNY

on the last day of cny, and also vday! the 11th yusheng, a takeaway from dian xiao er.

and the next day, though cny already officially over, there was still a cny gathering at the cc, where dad will usually buy a table for the family to eat. huat ahh! and that's where I had the last yusheng for the year. the 12th!!! hohohohoho

and so, cny is officially over. 12th yusheng for this year! 捞个风生水起ahhh!

and thoughout the cny, one of the best food I had.. was this pineapple tart from crystal jade! it's like one of the best best best pineapple tarts I have eaten!!

the crust is like those of bo-luo-bao, which I initially thought was cheese. and a lot of filling inside.. superrrr yummy! next year must buy!!

really super tasty. I was like one sua-gu, kept saying it's very nice it's very nice while happily munching on it. LOL. highly recommended. from crystal jade!

大年初三

初三 with friends coming to our humble little house for visiting!

initial plan was to order sakae delivery, but that did not happen, cuz quite a hassle to order the delivery, with the specific delivery timing... etc etc..

so hubb and myself went jp to shop at the fairprice early in the morning, thinking to DIY the yu-sheng. seriously, on chu san early morning, who would have expected sooooo many pple in fairprice???!! really kua zhang lehhh... really many pple!!

and then the gals were supposed to come visit in the morning, while hubb's friends will come in the late afternoon. but who knows...... ms yy and ms jo ji tao went missing in the morning! texted them, called them, and no response at all!!!

so everything got a little delayed, and the restaurants started operations liao. so in the end, we got the yusheng from din tai fung.

glo and qy arrived first... while waiting for yy and jo to wake up and respond to our callings...

and finally, despite the much hiccups, we proceeded with the yu-sheng successfully!!! huat ahhh! (yes, the 2 ladies came much later...) and that's my 6th yusheng for the year!

and we gambled a little, and i was considered one of the biggest winner! and with the saying that it will be a good year for oxes, i seriously thought i will win big time in genting.. but boohoo... no.... hohoho..

More MoRe MoReeee Yu-ShenG!

大年初三 had friends coming to our new home for visiting, but the pics are all in hubb's cam, so shall skip that first. and 初三 also had the sixth yu-sheng. LOL.

7th yu-sheng was with dear Shirley. apparently, it's her first yu-sheng, and mine, the 7th already! LOL. we had it at ichiban sushi @ PS :) huat ahh!

8th yu-sheng with CMD ex-colleagues at Mouth Restaurant, also at PS. Too bad a number of them could not make it, so only the 6 of us.

9th yu-sheng on 人日, with hubb's parents, at boon lay raja restaurant, opposite jurong east mrt station

and the 10th yu-sheng!! at Genting w hubb!!

and, so much for all the 运程 saying that it's a good year for Oxes. Apparently, I lost big time in Genting! Boohooo!

but well anyway, maybe 'storing power' for something BIGGER.... like the TOTO for this Friday?? hehehehehe

大年初二

2nd day of lunar new year

and then off to popo's house for reunion dinner.

i was the 'buffet organiser' again. and given last year's good experience w the caterer, i engaged the same caterer for this year. but who knows, this year was quite chuiz. the food came late... and we started w/o waiting for the food to heat up first, so the food was rather cold. and there was feedback that the fried rice was tough etc. boohoo.. next year shall change caterer liao.

and that's my 5th yusheng for the year!

年除夕 and 大年初一

年除夕 dinner at tiong bahru plaza's dian xiao er... and that's my 4th yusheng for the year! hheheehe

and then we went chinatown for countdown

and the fireworks

and yes, there were tonnes and tonnes of pple!! we sqz halfway and gave up. actually wanted to buy that seaweed crackers, but the flavour i wanted were all sold out. boohooo

My PhiLiPs Air-FrYeR

i have been eyeing this air-fryer for a long long long time... been wondering long time if it can work.. how it works..whether the food will turn out as tasty (though yes, i have received many feedback that it does work!) blah blah blahhhh...

and now, finally.... bought!

它是真的行worrrr!!

look at these!!!! nicely fried till golden brown w/o having to add oil at all!!

fanstastic.. im really amazed! my fave harshbrowns!! vvvv happy!!

as good as though they were being oil-fried.....

crispy!

so far only tried frying harshbrowns, nuggets and chicken fillets..and each time, it's only one layer.. i havent tried over-lapping the food.. but i guess by overlapping, the results may not be as good.

im satisfied so far. it really works and the food are crispy and as tasty (though i really have no idea what's the mechanism behind it... i mean, how did the air fry the food??! and equally crispy??!) actually, these food already contain quite a bit of oil in themselves, so there's really no need to add more oil.

it's also easy to wash.. but just one bad point - the capacity is too small, cant fry alot at one go.. and it's a bit space consuming, given that the actual capacity is very limited.

other than that, it's a perfect investment!

next, im going to check out the ceracraft pans. advertised on the JML home-shopping in channel U every morning. apparently, they are super good non-stick pans and can also cook without having to add oil!! i wanna test it out!!!!

FiVe StaRs TraVeL

ok.... very unfortunate to announce... but.....

we are victims to the damn five stars tour agency saga!!

this is like the ultimate.......

boss is on biz trip.. and my colleague already said to wait for his return before my leave can be confirmed... then i gei kiang...buay gam wan... gun chong spidey.... kept chasing for my leave to be approved.. and finally.. ok....

then happily told hubb to go ahead to book the tour to genting..

and immediately the next day, the news came out!!!

yes, the tour was booked on tues, and on wed, the co shut down!

hubb was the one who went to book and the staff told him to pay in cash cuz the machines are not working... when hubb enquired on the in-coach entertainment, the staff said the coaches no longer have in-coach entertainment cuz of complaints by customers... hubb still told me it's ok, we can bring our own entertainment...

now looking back, all these are pure signs of the company bursting soon!

but.. who could have tot of that??

i mean, five stars is really one of the more established in the industry. who could have tot of it going bust?!!

and even to the last minute, they are still trying to collect money from unknown innocent harmless consumers like us!!! im truly disappointed.

this is just pure cheating.

initially i tot the staff were also out to cheat, but apparently they were also victims.

the mgmt are truly evil. knew they cannot make it, kept silent about it, continued to collect money, absconded with the money, threw the staff behind, betrayed trust of consumers.... all just before cny period.......

what goes round will come round... beware of KARMA!!!!!!!!!!

and, apparently, the canto-wok restaurant just next to the head office also belongs to the same boss and has also shut down..

knew wad? i almost wanted to book cny eve dinner there! when i called that day, the person still told me to go fb and check out their menu and pricing! WTH???!!

lucky never book xia..... else will lose even more!

have already filed insurance and CASE. but from the so many comments so far, looks like very unlikely we can get the money back le..

haiiiii...
