celebrated mum's bday this yr at beng hiang restaurant. it's tt kind of standard chinese 8 course meal. costed about $400+. A real bargain if i were to hold my wedding dinner there yea? sure profit one! :)

xmas dinner with my team mates at pan pacific hotel. eh, apparently, it's not the pan pac at marina.. but the pan pac at orchard. mm... located near isetan scotts at some ulu corner...

the place was rather dark.. so the pics did not turn out well.. i had to edit them b4 posting.. so the color may be abit off and not that natural yeah...

the food here....are NO GOOD. disappointment yet again. the food are NOT fresh. i dont know wad kind of soy sauce they use.. but ít's wayyyyy tooo saltish and that totally spoilt the already-not-so-fresh sashimi. the crabs, the oysters.... all are not too good.

desserts.. look very nice right.. but definitely do not taste as good! looks like there are a lot of choices, but if u really look carefully, all are quite crappy one. and the macarons.... are so hard.... haii.. plain disappointment.

cost was about $40 per pax, after card discount. but just like melting pot, it's not worth it at all. the variety and ambience are ok.. but the freshness is really not there. plain crap.

another good old fren whom i managed to meet up. peihong, all the way back in jc time!! think we havent met each other since jc grad.. so tt's about 7yrs already! hahahah.. she was never in the same class as me.. we got to know each other thru common frens when we were in the 1st 3mths. she's really one nice and wuxim gal lah, still remb me and sms me. and after realising we r working around the same area, we met up for lunch. this gal.. still as crappy as ever..

and look wad she got me! really sweeeet rite... :)

u know how when long lost fren suddenly out of the blue sms or call u and ask you out but only to introduce u to some insurance policies or some investments cuz they are some sorta agents now?

im telling u rite now, that if u havent been bothered to contact me then dont ever contact me juz cuz u want to intro me into buying something that u are selling. u are totally destroying our friendship and i will have nothing for u but plain disgust and disappointment.

yep. i have got frens like that and it's totally hurting to know that pple will only think of me when they want something out of me. it's sad. real sad.

so.. dont hurt me like that k?

ask my colleagues how happy i were after the lunch with peihong. it's really really good to meet up with pple whom u have lost for a long while given that the meet-up is true and genuine and not hoping something out of me.

my 1st year celebrating xmas in a different dept.. but sadly.. it seems like there'll be no department celebration this yr. boohooo....

anyway, xmas is never my cup of tea. in fact, i hate xmas!

7th Year AnniVerSary!

after my last post on the super lousy hotel buffet, hubb bought me to another hotel buffet to celebrate our 7th yr anniversary.

~ spices cafe at concorde hotel at orchard (ex meridien) ~

the food here are dammmn good!

~ oysters! and it's so fresh, they only open it when u want it! ~

~ lobsters! but only 1 per customer, not free flow ~

~ sashimi !!!!! omg !!! ~

~ cold dish section ~

~ pasta section ~

~ crabs!!!! many many different flavours and free flow and they only serve when u order! ~

~ chef cooking....... drunken prawns in wine! and we were told, the prawns were still alive in the morning! ~

~ tada! ~

~ wines.. but not included in the buffet. need to pay de ~

~ desserts ~

~ choco fondue ! ~

maybe in this world, it's really yi4 fen1 jia4 qian2 yi4 fen1 huo4. good stuff are really more expensive. in total, the bill was about $90 (after 15% discount with uob/dbs cards). that's abt double the price at melting pot. but... i think it's super worth it!!!!!! highly recommended!

and so, it's our 7th yr together. 7 yrs itchy... hubb kept saying bad things will happen. and .... that day my colleague forwarded the fortune next yr for the different zodiac sign and apparently, next yr will not be a good yr for oxes, be it work, fortune, romance, health etc....

well, anyway not up to us to worry yea? last mth of the yr liao! let ur hair down, enjoy, and await the new year!!!

HuBb's BdaY

hubb's bday was on sat. took him to hotel buffet @ melting pot @ holiday inn atrium  hotel. there's a one- for -one promo for uob cards and costed only about $25 per person. 

but.. the buffet... turned out to be a real disappointment!! i dont even think it's worth $10!!! there was no sashimi.. there was no oysters.. there was only coke or sprite.... and... the food was so god damn limited!!!!

that's more or less about all. can u believe it?! felt soo cheated! i mean $25 is not alot.. but it's not all that little either leh! the only decent food there was the tempura.. rest are all quite crappy. not that it's not delicious, but... i seriously expect more for a hotel buffet than this lor. i think the chap chai peng stall below my flat has wider variety of food! i shall never complain about sakura again!

grrr... and i tot the hotel buffet for my farewell dinner in my old dept was already bad. this one is much much much worse! it's like those complimentary breakfast buffet that u get to eat when u stay in a hotel. gosh.  PLS DO NOT GO THERE! $25 CAN GET U MUCH BETTER FOOD ELSEWHERE!!!!!

sometimes.. cheap deals are really no good deals!

 food variety aside.. the ambience is not that bad and the staff are quite nice and helpful..

and... the hotel has a super old carpark. like those in 1980s hongkong movies..

dinner was really a disappointment. i still tot it'll be a nice good buffet in a hotel.. but alas!
