Chu-Xi Lao Yu SheNg

happy new year to all!!!! all the vvvv best in the new year!

my 3rd yu-sheng of the year... usually we do not have the practice of lao yu-sheng during chu-xi but tis year hubb wants to sponsor, and so we had yu-sheng on chu-xi.

kind of a last min arrangement and i tot could still get yu-sheng from the coffeshops below but who knows,  all coffee shops were closed... and so.... thanks to the cny celeb i had in the company, we decided to DIY.... again!

went to shop n save to get wad we need. but there were no fish available. finally we managed to find those packed salmon but only to realise that those packed salmon cannot be eaten raw.

and... the  v smart me suggested to lao bao-yu instead! lol ~~~~

and given my prior experience... DIY-ing yu-sheng is small case to me.... wahhahhaha

tada!!

i tell you.. this is one of the best yu-sheng i've had. better than the one we diy at co and better than those tt i've eaten outside. no joke :)

ComPaNy's CNY CeLeBraTioN

cny celebration @ work this year is of a much smaller scale than of last year's. but still, something is better than nothing... even though there were much controversial in participating in this celebration.. o well..

anyway, i was 'selected' to be part of the organising committee.... again. somehow, im always chosen to be involved in these kind of recre stuff... maybe in the mgmt's mind, im only good enuff for recre stuff and serious work-related stuff are not for me. tt's sad..

food preparation.... yea... we are DIY-ing yu-sheng with abalone!!! preparing the pomelo.....

5 cans of abalone for us to 处置.............

that's my 2nd yu-sheng for the year.. DIY de but looks very pro right?? lol ~~

dinner was catered nasi lemak from lee-wee brothers. i think it's a famous brand cux everyone seems to know it... except me. haa....

the stall is at tangs... exit from orchard mrt... jus up the escalator. and yes... the food is not bad...

after that was lucky draw..... everyone will get something and i won myself pork floss and heh-bee-hiam crackers from bee cheng hiang. lol ~

last but not least... the organising committee....

and as usual.. being the organisers, we will have to kio the aftermath of the celebration and it really doesnt feel that great when everybody starts to leave and only we guys have to stay and kio the stuff....

it feels really good when some1 come over and at least have the courtesy to thank us for the effort... i must bear in mind to do the same thing in future to all organisers of all events....

besides lee-wee brothers nasi lemak which is a new thing which i learnt of only recently... this cookie is also another new thing to me.

in the cny celeb meeting, it was suggested if money should be spent on the fortune cookie and i totally have no idea wad this 'fortune cookie' is... until my superior bought and gave it to us......

but the main essence is that - inside the cookie, there's a slip with some remarks and 4digits... tt's y it's called 'fortune cookie' eh..

and tt's my slip... seriously, i have no idea wad it meant......

 

anyway, today is the last day of 2009 in the chinese calender le... wishing all a happy happy and prosperity new year!

i slept once i reached home  yesterday.. without removing my lens, without removing the make-up, without changing out from what i was wearing.. all the way till this morning... does that go to show how tired i was? or which i still am? mmmmm.....

out for steamboating on thurs nite with colleagues. pre-celebration for cny.

it was at crystal jade. yes.. crystal jade do offer steamboat.. but i guess it's only available at certain outlets. $22 nett per pax but the prawns are limited to 100g per pax. the soup base and food are quite good. can try.

my bowl of noodle which caused much hoo-haa.. i was being condemned for ordering noodles!!! urgh!! who said cannot eat noodle for steamboat hurr hurr???

cny in juz a wk's time!! i really love feb.. such a short and festive month. coming wed will have a small cny dinner held in office and fri will be co's dnd at shangri-la. then will be ny le.... sooo fast!!

my new portfolio at work is keeping  me v busy. no time to relax sha-la-la liao which is a good thing cuz time seems to past sooo much faster than when i was doing the old portfolio. and it's not soo mundane and robotic now. mm.. hopefully things can only get better.... yeah?

My NeW CamEra

wooo... i finally bought a new cammie!! been thinking for sooo long... and finally bought one now.

actually the handphone camera has been serving me well, but at times, tt camera will fail me. bro in law gave me a cam long ago too, but tt's a little bulky (given today's standards) and the batts are now weak and hence, many a times, need to borrow camera from bro or bro in law.. and so, in order to save all tt hassle, i decided to truly get one myself.

actually, the budget was set at abt $200... but as usual, things juz got out of hand and this one cost more than double my budget.

i was looking for something slim and compact.. with wide screen and quick shutter. i was actually eyeing this canon cammie and more or less decided to get that when tt salesperson recommended me this camera. kinda wierd y he kept introducing me something else when i already expressed my intention for the canon cam.. mm... i suppose he works for the shop and not the specific brands... so i cant figure y he seemed to be constantly diverting my attention away from the canon cam...

and so he succeded.

the wonderful part abt this cam is that it has dual screen so you can 自拍 all u like.

and the screen is ultra big :)

comes with an additonal batt and additional memory card and hubb managed to get him to throw in a tripod as well. lol.

actually, i have doubts on samsung camera. apparently samsung is not well-known in making cameras.and their phones.. erm.... not really can make it also. ive tried a few samsung phones b4 and it's quite fragile....

come to think of it.. i still think the canon cam should be a better buy than this samsung cam. afterall, canon is well-known for camera pdts, isnt it? and the appearance of tt canon cam also better... mm...

but now tt i hve bought it, i can only pray tt it'll serve me well and make my money worthwhile huh.

and per expectation.. tdy is a depressing day at work. long time since i last felt soo depress and helpless.. o well.. will just see how long i can hang in there. till then, pls let something good happen to lift me up abit....
